President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that he was nearing an announcement on whether to pull out of the Paris climate agreement. A source close to the matter says a US withdrawal is expected. Answering to shouted questions from reporters in the White House Oval Office, Trump only says that the world will soon find out if the U.S. will leave the global climate deal, which was agreed upon in Paris in 2015 by 195 countries. If the U.S. does leave, it will join Syria and Nicaragua as the only 3 UNFCCC member states that are not part of the accord. Meanwhile, the EU says quitting the agreement won't be a straightforward process. It will, in fact, take 3 to 4 years for the U.S. to extricate itself from its obligations that flow from having signed the agreement. TRANSLATED BY:JEFF CHANG
