Voting Age Referendum Scheduled for Nov. 26 18歲公民權修憲案 11/26公民複決公投

The legislature recently passed the third reading of a constitutional amendment to lower the voting age to 18, and the referendum will be held on Nov. 26. 

Lee Chin-yung, Chairperson, Central Election Commission: “In addition to electing local officials, we will also hold a referendum on a constitutional amendment voted on by citizens for the first time. We will get our ballots and cast our votes. Don't forget to get your referendum ballot after you get your election ballot.”

The Central Election Commission said there are an estimated 19.3 million eligible voters, including 760,000 first-time voters. If the referendum passes, the age to vote in elections, recalls, initiatives, and referendums will be lowered to 18.

中選會主委李進勇表示：「我們除了舉行地方公職人員的選舉之外，我們同時要行使史上第1次交由公民複決的憲法修正案的公投的權利，我們領領投，你領了選舉票之後不要忘記還要領公投票。」

由於立法院日前三讀通過18歲公民權修憲案，後續由中選會辦理公民複決投票，決議在11月26日進行，這次所有的投票權人預計有1930萬人，首投族佔了約76萬人，如果年底複決成功，公民權將從下修，只要年滿18歲就有選舉、罷免、創制、複決等權利。
