86% Surveyed Think Teaching Remotely "Worse-off" 問卷調查屏東遠距教學 86%學校認成效差

Online learning after schools were closed for COVID-19. As many teachers rushed into remote teaching and had to learn as they go. The K-12 Education Administration says it will help more frontline teachers facilitating online teaching this summer.


Online learning became common during the epidemic situation, with students and teachers interacting through screens. A survey conducted by legislators of Pingtung County showed that 86 percent of schools think the online learning results are poor.

Huang I-chung, Civics Teacher:”We now doing everything in front of the lens, and we have to be interesting enough  to catch their attention. We need to stay down-to-earth. Teachers are very different from live streamers. I may do that for an hour, but how do you expect me to continue for five or six like that? That's nonsense.”

Yu Li-li, Educator:”You can learn English through English songs on TikTok, and dance through tutorials on Switch. There is both dynamic and static. We want children to have an enriching summer.”

Teachers are now giving lessons livestreaming, which means that traditional course plans need to be rethought. They also need to set aside time after class to grade students' online assignments, blurring the line between work and rest. 

Some frontline teachers say the digital teaching courses offered to teachers by the Ministry of Education and other entities are limited.

Hsu Li-chuan, Deputy Director-General, K-12 Education Administration:”How can teachers use these digital tools and improve themselves? It's not only a matter of technology because after all online teaching and in-person teaching are different, so the adjustments teachers make to course planning are also very important.”

A MOE survey was conducted at the end of May about at-home learning. After that, cities and counties applied for 5,400 mobile tools for disadvantaged students. They were sent out in June, so this is no longer the biggest issue. Now, the focus has shifted to how to motivate students to learn by themselves online. 

The K-12 Education Administration says it will offer enrichment courses to frontline teachers during the summer, while the National Academy for Educational Research will provide advice from textbook companies

 

 

看著螢幕裡的老師和同學,是疫情警戒期間,大部分學生熟悉的上課畫面,不過立委調查屏東縣內學校的有效問卷結果,顯示有八成六的學校認為遠距教學成效差,大部分老師在進行線上教學時,也是瞎子摸象,邊做邊學。

公民教師 黃益中:「現在變成我們要在鏡頭前面自導自演,要演到學生願意看。這東西我們也是要回復到現實,你說老師要像直播主這樣說學逗唱,對啊,一個小時我可以演,你要演五個小時六個小時,我哪演得下去。」

台東土坂vusam文化實小課程發展處主任 余莉莉:「從抖音的英文歌曲來學習英語,還有線上的Switch的舞蹈教學。靜的、動態的也一起來,希望孩子們在暑假期間是非常非常充實。」

老師變成直播主線上授課,傳統實體教學的課程設計需要被翻轉,就連放學後,也需要花時間批改學生的線上作業,工作和休息時間變得模糊,有第一線的老師指出,教育部等相關單位,提供給教師數位教學的研習課程有限。

教育部國民及學前教育署副署長 許麗娟:「老師怎麼善用這些數位的工具,怎麼精進提升。那不是只有技術的問題,因為他畢竟線上教學,跟在實體課程是有所不同的。所以老師對於課程教學的規劃,設計怎麼樣的調整也是很重要的。

教育部統計,今年五月底調查全國居家學習後,縣市陸續提出弱勢學生需求約5400台,已經在六月補足,學生學習的行動載具已經不是最大問題,但在網路上自主學習動機還有待養成。

現在希望把握暑假期間,提供教師增能課程,國教院也將因應數位課程,提供教科書業者建議。
