Yushan Ship Handed Over to Navy 萬噸級玉山艦交艦 國艦國造新里程碑

Taiwan's first 10,000-ton amphibious transport ship Yushan was officially delivered on the 30th, marking a milestone for the navy and the nation's shipbuilding technology.

The flag handover ceremony was grandly staged, symbolizing a new milestone for the navy and the nation's shipbuilding. President Tsai Ing-wen personally presided over the handover ceremony of the navy's first 10,000-ton amphibious transport ship "Yushan" on the 30th. In the face of China's military threat, Taiwan's military can only strengthen its own defense capabilities. The Yushan ship is a transport ship that can conduct disaster relief missions during peacetimes while fighting during wartime.

Tsai Ing-wen, President: “The Yushan can undertake disaster relief and emergency medical work during disasters. And in wartime, it can be organized as a task force to conduct amphibious reinforcements.”

Cheng Wen-lung, Chairperson, CSBC Corp.: “It has special features such as a stealthy appearance, electromagnetic pulse protection, and an intelligent water ballast system. ”

The Yushan ship was launched in April last year, but before its delivery, water accidentally breached into the cabin during a test in June this year, which caused concerns. The Yushan will usually transport goods and personnel to the South China Sea and other outer islands and conduct natural disaster rescues. It can also be set up as a temporary hospital at sea during wartime and participate in the international humanitarian rescue. The TC-2N missiles that it carries have a range of 30 to 50 kilometers. They can also determine the enemy's threat level and prioritize enemy targets. In addition, the Yushan also shoulders the heavy responsibility of force projection during wartime. In addition to carrying soldiers, it can also transport the AAV-7 amphibious assault vehicles, landing crafts, Humvees, helicopters, and other equipment to perform amphibious operations.

Tsai Ing-wen, President: “I heard that our naval officers and sailors volunteer transferred to the Yushan, hoping to accept the challenge of sailing the new ship to enhance their individual professional competence.”

The Yushan has high maneuverability and long voyage capabilities. It can fight in the open sea for a long time. After the Yushan ship is delivered, its operating unit will be formed next year and will join existing forces to defend the Taiwan Strait.

蔡英文表示：「當災害發生，也可以擔綱救災和緊急醫療的工作，而在戰時更能編成特遣部隊，進行兩棲增援。」台船董事長鄭文隆指出，「它同時具有匿蹤型的外觀，電磁脈衝防護，智慧型的調水系統，這些特殊的功能。」

玉山艦去年4月下水，卻在交艦前，今年6月測試期間，發生船艙進水意外，引發外界關切。蔡總統這回親自登艦視導，用行動力挺船艦品質沒問題。玉山艦平時執行南海、外島運補及人員運輸、天然災害救援，還能在海上機動設立臨時野戰醫院，以及投入國際人道救援。玉山艦未來除了負責支援任務之外，也具有一定作戰能力，包括在艦首的部分，配置76快砲，以及方陣快砲，最大亮點是配置4座8聯裝的，海劍二防空飛彈，總計32枚防空飛彈，展現強大的防空火力。海劍二飛彈射程達30到50公里，對於敵方目標還能判別威脅程度，優先擇定攔截順序，此外玉山艦在戰時階段，還肩負兵力投射重任，載運官兵之外，可運送AAV-7兩棲突擊車、登陸艇、悍馬車及直升機等，執行兩棲作戰。

蔡英文表示：「我聽說我們海軍官兵，志願請調到玉山軍艦，就是希望能夠接受接艦任務的挑戰，來提升專業能力。」

玉山艦具備高機動、遠航程，能長時間在外海作戰，玉山艦交艦後，預計明年成軍，為保衛台海疆增添生力軍。
