New Taipei City Expanding Contact Tracing 桃銀行確診同住家人居住新北 擴大疫調中

Of the Six newly confirmed cases reported on the morning of Jan. 14, one lives in New Taipei City. A doctor has suggested that year end banquets in Northern Taiwan should be prohibited.

Six new cases were confirmed on the 14th, including a family member of one of the Union Bank of Taiwan employees who tested positive earlier. New Taipei City is expanding contact tracing.

Hou Yu-ih, New Taipei City Mayor: “This man lives in New Taipei City and visited the Union Bank of Taiwan. He leads a very simple life. We have been contact tracing. He works in Taipei City. We are expanding contract tracing and testing.”

New Taipei and Taipei, which are part of the same metropolitan area as Keelung and Taoyuan, are stepping up prevention efforts against Omicron. Meanwhile, a man that illegally left his room at a quarantine hotel in Datong District was reported to the authorities by hotel staff. He tested positive a day later. A borough official and police officer that had contact with him have been put in quarantine. The man will be fined NT$100,000.

Cheng Peng-cheng, Jiantai Borough Chief: “He didn't like his room and had objections to his room, so he left his room and went to the lobby. After someone reported this to the borough, a borough official went to the hotel and ended up having contact with the (infected) patient.”

Huang Shan-shan, Taipei City Deputy Mayor: “Violations of communicable disease transmission laws will result in fines. The maximum fine in this case, which is what we are issuing, is NT$100,000. We will be meeting with the central government to discuss the issue of (quarantine hotels). We already had discussions yesterday. We hope to get 230 rooms included.”

Doctor Shen Cheng-nan says Taipei, New Taipei, Keelung and Taoyuan should ban all year-end parties and large-scale banquets and events. Huang Shan-shan says prevention measures will be in place at all events and central regulations will be observed. New Taipei City Mayor Hou Yu-ih, meanwhile, says prevention measures must be in place with people taking off their masks in restaurants.

 

桃園聯邦銀行群聚案持續擴大，14日再新增六名確診個案，其中一例來自新北市。新北市長侯友宜證實確有此事，是銀行確診個案的同住家人，正在擴大疫調。

新北市長侯友宜說：「我們早就掌握到了，這個是聯邦銀行的一個先生，他居住點在新北市，生活非常的單純。我們一直在疫調當中，工作地點應該在台北市，目前我們還是在擴大精準疫調以及擴大篩檢。」

侯友宜強調，面對Omicron來勢洶洶，有鑑於北北基桃是共同生活圈，新北市很早就開始全面戒備，台北市也不能大意。在大同區的一間防疫旅館，發生一名正在隔離檢疫的男子，違規跑出房間到大廳。業者趕緊通報，沒想到隔天收到這名男子確診的消息，造成當時曾與他接觸的里幹事和員警也要被隔離。這名違規個案，將被開罰10萬元。

台北市大同區建泰里長陳鵬程指出：「就是有一些設施，他覺得不喜歡、有意見，他就擅自離開房間到大廳。本里的里幹事因為接到通報後，前往去處理協調的時候，所以跟這位（確診）民眾有接觸。」

台北市副市長黃珊珊表示：「依照傳染病防治法，本來就違反相關規定就是會開罰。以他的那個時間的話，好像是最高額，我們會罰到10萬。今天就會去跟中央溝通（防疫專責旅館），昨天已經溝通過了，我們也希望排入他們後送的機制，我們已經準備好了，數量我們有230幾間。」

春節前，也是尾牙旺季，但本土疫情燒不停。醫師沈政男建議北北基桃應取消尾牙等大型餐會活動，不過黃珊珊指出，活動會有一定防疫標準，也會依照中央規定，不會有特別要求。侯友宜則提醒，在餐廳內用脫口罩，也要防疫做到位，保持適當距離，以策安全。
