Fishermen may not be allowed to land on Taiping Island / 漁民護主權船隊 今抵太平島促准登島　　　　　　　　　　

Many Pingtung fishing boats sailed to Taiping Island in an action to proclaim Taiwan's sovereignty over the island. Those fishing boats are expected to arrive by tonight. However, those fishermen did not apply for permission. The Ministry of National Defense has declined fishermen to get onto the island. Some KMT and DPP legislators suggest the government to send some goodwill and allow fishermen to set foot on the island. Fishermen from Pingtung mobilized several fishing boats, they were sailing to Taiping Island (Itu Aba Island) in an action to proclaim Taiwan's sovereignty over the island. However the Ministry of National Defense declined fishermen to disembark at the island. Are they watching you? Anyone there? (No.) Did Coast Guard Administration radio call to check on your position? (No. No, I did not see any.) Although KMT legislators are in support to those fishermen, but none of governmental agencies sent representatives to the press conference. KMT legislator demands the government using the prototype of humanitarian aid, and allowing fishermen to disembark at the island. ==WANG YU-MIN, KMT Legislator== We have absolute support to our fishermen disembarking at the island. We fully support our fishermen to act on protecting sovereignty and fishing zone. ==CHUANG JUI-HSIUNG, DPP Legislator== Open up your mind, regard it as an solidarity of government and civilians to protect Taiwan's sovereignty. Just allow them to set foot on the island, and supply their needs. Don't be so serious on this matter. The fishing boats are expected to arrive Itu Aba Island by the evening of July 25th. Whether or not those fishermen will be allowed to set foot on the island? It remains unknown.
