Worst ever accident involving Chinese toruists / 遼寧陸客團火燒車26死 歷年來最慘重　　　　　　　　　　

The victims of tour bus accident were from China's Liaoning Province. There were 24 people including a group leader. This incident is the worst ever accident involving Chinese tourists in Taiwan. The owner emphasized that the bus was not overloaded and insisted that safety checks were carried out before each journey by the driver and the guide. Video shows smoke emerging from the roof of the bus as the driver drove along the inside lane of the freeway. The bus then hit the central divide before running into the barrier along the outside lane. None of the 26 people aboard were able to get off the bus. The group was at the end of a 8 day 7 night tour of the island and were going to the airport to fly home. ==LU RUI SHAO National Highway Police Bureau Capt.== The majority of the passengers were past row 5 at the back safety exit, there were nine people around the exit. National Highway Police Bureau investigating officers said that no-one managed to get off the bus and the rear right emergency exit had no traces of an attempt to open it. Everyone ran to the back, past row 5. The Taiwan travel company said that the group of 24 came from Liaoning Province. There were 8 men and 16 women including three youngsters aged 13 to 15. Among the dead were the bus driver, surnamed Su and the guide surnamed Zeng who had a decade of experience. This is the worst ever accident involving Chinese tourists in Taiwan. ==HUANG SHI-HAO Julong Travel Co.== The coach was manufactured in 2010 we have always worked with this coach company. We always require the driver to check the safety door and fire extinguisher then the guide checks it too before setting off. The travel company said the tour cost around 3 to 4,000 yuan for 8 days and 7 nights and toured from the north to the south of Taiwan. Each month it took around 200 Chinese tourists. It emphasized that it was a legal tour and apart from insurance on the Chinese side, in accordance with Taiwan's Tourism Bureau each member of the group also had travel insurance. ==HUANG SHI-HAO Julong Travel Co== On the Taiwan side the group has travel insurance too up to NT$2 million. Over the years Chinese tourists in Taiwan have been involved in many accidents. In October 2010, 21 died in a landslide along the Suao Highway in Hualien. In 2011 a train in Alishan caught fire and overturned and five died. This is the worst accident yet.
