Tainan Student Confirmed with COVID-19 台南私校女學生確診 住高雄遭親友傳染

A private school in Tainan suspended classes after one of its students was diagnosed with COVID-19. Tainan City Government held an emergency press conference, saying the patient served as a helper in the school's winter camp, which had participants from Tainan, as well as Kaohsiung, and Pingtung. Therefore, contact tracing has been initiated and expanded to other parts of southern Taiwan. 

Disinfection personnel from the Tainan Environmental Protection Bureau appeared in the gymnasium of this Tainan private school because there was a student infected with COVID-19. The school announced on the 10th, reminding parents and students that classes will be suspended for one day on the 11th for disinfection. 

Tainan City Government held an emergency press conference to explain that the female high school student from the school received news that her two family members in Kaohsiung were confirmed with COVID-19. Before she was confirmed on the 10th, she was working as a staff member in the school's activities camp on the 8th and 9th. Most of the students who participated in the camp activities came from Tainan, Kaohsiung, and Pingtung. The school quickly notified the Education Bureau and the Public Health Bureau. At the same time, a name roster of students participating in the activities camp was sent to both Tainan City and Kaohsiung City health bureaus for contact tracing.

Huang Wei-che, Mayor, Tainan City: “She indeed goes to school in Tainan, but she was infected by her family in Kaohsiung. Her Ct value is only 16 so she's quite contagious with her low Ct value. We immediately contact traced the entire winter camp and placed everyone in quarantine, including all team leaders, high school teaching staff, participating students, and cooks for a total of 134 people.”

Another social and educational institution also has reported footprint traffic from infected people and has completely suspended classes.

Chen Chen-chieh, Director-General, Tainan YMCA: “We have a student who came into contact with a confirmed case during the Lunar New Year holidays in Miaoli. We have shut down the YMCA building on Minsheng Road immediately and we expect it will take us two days to disinfect the building.”

The 11th is the first day of school for the entire country. When Mayor Huang visited schools early in the morning to inspect the epidemic prevention, he also revealed that there were suspected students infected with the virus. Thus, he is asking schools to strengthen their campus epidemic prevention. 

台南市環保局的清消人員，出現在台南某私校體育館內消毒，因為這裡傳出有學生染疫。學校更在10日貼出公告，提醒家長和學生，11日開學日停課一天，展開清消作業。

台南市府緊急召開記者會說明，就讀私校的女高中生因收到高雄親人確診，接著10號也確診，她還在學校8日、9日的營隊擔任工作人員，而參加營隊活動的學生，大多來自台南、高雄和屏東，校方也趕緊通報教育局和衛生局，同時將參加活動的名冊給台南市、高雄市衛生局進行疫調和匡列等。

台南市長黃偉哲指出:「她是在台南就學沒有錯，但是她是被她高雄的家人所傳染，Ct值只有16，傳染性相當高，Ct值相當低，我們緊急在第一時間就匡列跟整個冬令營，包括所有的隊輔老師，還有高中的教職員，還有參加的學員、廚工，含有人士總共匡列134位居家隔離。」

另外一間社教機構也傳出有足跡，全面停課。

社教機構總幹事陳振傑說明:「我們有一位學員，過年期間跟一位確診者在苗栗有足跡重疊，民生路上的YMCA的協進會館，我們也立即停止上班課，也預計做兩天的清消。」

11日是全國開學日，台南市長黃偉哲一早到校園視察防疫時，也透漏疑似有學生染疫，因此也要求開學後要加強校園防疫。
