TRA, THSR Lifting Food and Drink Bans on Trains|6/7起雙鐵車內販售餐飲可飲食.不戴口罩

Taiwan Railways and the high-speed rail will start selling food on trains again starting June 7. As long as social distancing is maintained, passengers will be allowed to go mask-free and eat and drink. Taiwan Railways will also resume selling standing tickets, limited to 120 per train.

The food and drink ban on Taiwan Railways trains will be lifted on June 7. Although passengers will still have their temperatures checked and be asked to wear masks when entering stations, they will not be required to keep masks on on trains as long they maintain social distancing.

We will still ask our operations staff to patrol train cars to make sure passengers are only eating and drinking if there is no one in the seat next to them or if the passenger next to them is wearing a mask.

These prevention measures have to be lifted at some point. In theory, it's OK. It'll be less of a hassle for sure.

Taiwan High Speed Rail lifted its food and drink ban on trains on the 1st and will resume on-board food cart service on the 7th. Bento boxes will also be available on select trains. The THSR says travelers should maintain social distancing when eating.

On-board food cart service and vending machine service will resume. Magazines, newspapers and hot beverages will also return to business class. However, we will ask passengers to put on masks again if social distancing can't be maintained.

Like Taiwan Railways, THSR passengers will still have their temperatures checked and be asked to wear masks when entering stations, but will not be required to keep masks on after entering stations. While the THSR will only sell reserved tickets during the Dragon Boat Festival long weekend, Taiwan Railways will resume selling up to 120 standing tickets per train over the holiday.

防疫期間，台鐵目前仍禁止車上飲食，台鐵站區便當銷售量，因此跌了兩成，因應6月7日起"防疫新生活"，台鐵宣布，雖然進站時，還是要配戴口罩，測量體溫，但在列車上，將恢復販售台鐵便當，旅客也可以在保持社交距離下，脫口罩飲食。

台鐵運務處視察李宗陽表示：「我們還是會請我們的乘務人員，來加強巡視車廂。在旅客，如果是隔壁座，沒有旅客，或是隔壁旅座，有配戴口罩時候，那也是可以開放飲食的。」

民眾表示：「疫情是有舒緩，理論上是OK啦！真的是比較方便。」

而台灣高鐵在6月1日起，已經開放旅客可以在車上飲食，疫情後取消的推車熱飲服務，將從6月7日起恢復，指定車次，也會開始賣便當，高鐵呼籲旅客，在與鄰座旅客保持社交距離下用餐。

台灣高鐵公共事務室公關專員顏喬偉表示：「恢復列車推車販售，及車上自動販賣機的服務，那商務車廂熱飲跟書、報、雜誌，也是一樣恢復供應。飲食完畢，如果無法維持社交距離的話，還是要請旅客要戴口罩。」

高鐵表示，考量疫情尚未完全解除，旅客進站時，仍須配合量測體溫、配戴口罩，進站後如果能維持社交離，可拿下口罩，而端午疏運期間，高鐵還是維持全部列車對號座，台鐵則在端午疏運恢復"站票"販售，限量每列次120張，以免人潮爆量。
