Legislators Clash over Nomination of Next CEC Head|李進勇人事同意權案立院藍綠激烈攻防

The Legislative Yuan is scheduled to hold discussion on the candidacy of Lee Chin-yung as the next chairperson of the Central Election Commission (CEC). Legislators from the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) and opposition Kuomintang (KMT) have clashed on the matter, which soon escalated into pushing and shoving. Though DPP Legislators in the end gained control of the podium, KMT legislators, still boycotted the voting by destroying the voting booths.

KMT Legislator Johnny Chiang got onto the platform to vocally protest Legislative Yuan President Su Jia-chyuan for forcefully starting the vote. The vote concerns the selection of Lee Chin-yung as the next chairperson of the Central Election Commission (CEC). Legislators from both the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) and opposition Kuomintang (KMT) came to the Legislative Yuan early to try to occupy the main platform. The KMT legislators kept on shouting slogans to forfeit the proposal of Lee as the next CEC chair.

Legislators from neither party could gain an advantage. At around 9:50, DPP legislators managed to overwhelm their KMT counterpart and grabbed control of the microphone. Legislative Yuan President Su Jia-chyuan then took over and announced to begin the voting process.

Now, we will proceed to cast our vote on the candidate for the next chairperson of the Central Election Commission.

The KMT legislators were not happy with the process and they smashed the voting booths as an act of boycott. Su demanded KMT legislators to respect the voting right of other legislators, which didn't help the situation. Physical confrontations erupted among the legislators, and a KMT legislator was pushed to the ground.

The opposition always needs to express their views. We already knew that they would escalate the situation into confrontation.

We have one goal in mind, to forfeit the candidacy of Lee Chin-yung, regardless of what measures we need to resort to. As the opposition party, we must make our position clear.

After KMT legislators boycotted the vote, the proceeding has come to a standstill.

不滿立法院長蘇嘉全宣布開始投票，藍委江啟臣站上發言台，向蘇嘉全嗆聲。立法院處理中選會主委被提名人、李進勇的人事同意權案，一早藍綠就甲級動員，激烈攻防，藍委搶占主席台後，不斷高喊「退回李進勇」等的口號。

主席台上，藍綠僵持不下，直到9點50分，藍委不敵綠委優勢，麥克風被綠委奪回控制權，院長蘇嘉全隨即進場，宣布開始投票。

立法院長蘇嘉全表示：「現在對中央選舉委員會主任委員，被提名人同意權之行使，進行投票表決。」

藍委不滿，轉而砸爛圈票處，讓投票進度停擺。蘇嘉全要求藍委，尊重其他委員的投票權利，卻不見效用。過程中，藍綠又爆發嚴重推擠衝突，還有藍委被推倒在地，氣氛火爆。

民進黨團書記長鄭運鵬表示：「在野黨總是要表態一下嘛！我們早就說，他們今天是有刻意要安排，一些衝突的活動嘛！」

國民黨團總召江啟臣表示：「我們的目標只有一個，就是退回李進勇，至於用什麼方法？我想我們做為在野黨，就是表達我們的態度。」

藍委杯葛投票，整個投票程序，完全陷入停擺。
