Changhua County was the first in Taiwan to set up a gym inside a local public health center in order to allow senior citizens to work out. The gym even has medical staff members on site to provide guidance for the citizens. The Changhua County Public Health Bureau is also in the process of integrating these public health centers equipped with gym with long-term care centers, making it the first in Taiwan to provide multipurpose long-term care centers.
Senior citizens are working out under the guidance of experts. This is not an average gym, it is the first work out facility specially designed for senior citizens set in a local public health centre in Changhua County. It has attracted many seniors who come to work out regularly.
I feel more energized after a workout. My legs are now less likely to be fatigued during mountain climbing, and I pant a lot less.
The members of the public believe that it is hugely beneficial to set up gyms at local health centres and to have medical experts guide the senior citizens while they work out free of charge. The Changhua County Public Health Bureau has also set up gyms in several of its long-term care centres in hopes to allow more seniors to enjoy the service.

We know that as one's body weakens, it leads to high risk of losing one's normal day-to-day functions, being bedridden, and even death. Improving muscle strength is the best way to reduce these risks. Therefore, we've set up gyms in local public health centers to serve senior citizens. The service will be incorporated with our clinics and community-based long-term care centres.
The Changhua County Public Health Bureau is the first in Taiwan work with long-term care institutions and to set up long-term care services in the same building as the Puxin township clinic. This allows senior citizens to exercise in the same building where they are taken care of.
We are the first in Taiwan to collaborate with local public health centers. We have incorporated the function of a library in our branch in Dacun Township. And the benefit of incorporating a public health center is that we provide medical service right downstairs.
Taiwan's first multipurpose long-term care center is unveiled at the Puxin Township Clinic. The Changhua County Public Health Bureau said that, in the future, they are hoping to continue to work in this fashion and have public health centers collaborate with nearby medical facilities in order to allow senior citizens to receive medical care and long-term care in a seamless fashion.

民眾表示：「做完比較有體力，去爬山腳比較不會軟，也比較不會喘。」
民眾認為，健身房設置在衛生所裡，有醫生的專業指導建議，而且是免費，對平常缺乏運動的老人家來說，是一大福音。而彰化縣衛生局目前已經在埔心鄉等多個衛生所內，設置不老健身房，希望能服務更多老人家。
彰化縣衛生局長 葉彥伯表示：「我們知道說，衰弱會導致日後的失能、臥床，甚至這個死亡的機率風險會增加，那肌力訓練是減少這些風險的不二法門，所以我們在衛生所裡面，把這個肌力訓練的，一個不老健身房的服務，結合到門診，結合到C據點。」
此外，彰化縣衛生局創全國之先，與長照機構合作，將專為失智長輩服務的長照據點，直接設置在埔心鄉衛生所的樓上，來長照的老人家只要下樓，就可以進行體能訓練。
切膚之愛基金會董事長 陳穆寬表示：「我們是全國第一家，結合衛生所來做的，像大村鄉我們是結合圖書館，那結合衛生所有一個好處，就是說我們的醫療就在樓下。」
全國首座的複合式長照據點，在埔心鄉衛生所揭牌，彰化縣衛生局表示，未來新的長照據點，也希望循這個模式，與衛生所結合或是鄰近醫療機構，讓老年人的健康照護與長照服務可以無縫接軌。
