Landslides in Hsichih and Keelung threaten residents / 汐止基隆 山坡土石崩落 居民已撤　　　　　　　　　　

Consecutive days of rain triggered landslides and brought damages to Xizhi and Keelung. On October 10th, Premier Lin Chuan went on a disaster inspection tour to Xizhi to check the exposed building foundations. It is fortunate that no people were injured. The 73-year-old made an emotional appeal to Premier Lin Chuan. She and her family is one of the affected households in Hsi Chih that suffered exposed building foundations, caused by consecutive days of rain. They could only stay at their relatives' place for the time being. She was still left with a lingering fear when recollecting what happened. ==resident== The rain came all of a sudden. I woke up as soon as I heard the rain. It sounded as if were waves outside the house. Trees fell one after another. I hurried to wake the children up. Engineers have made initial repairs to foundations in Hsi Chih. Rains also triggered landslides in Keelung. An earth retaining wall located on a hillside collapsed as a result. The nearby road lost its foundation, and was turned into a cliff. ==LIEN SHU-HUI, Hsing Liao borough chief== Yesterday (October 9), around 9:30 pm, the earth retaining wall collapsed. A man heard a sound, and found that it collapsed. ==LUO WEN-CHANG, Anle Dist. chief== The landowner came here at 6'o clock this morning. He said he will contact the construction company and technicians who designed it to look into the case. On hearing the news, some residents hurried to the hillside to relocate their family tombs. Residents were evacuated as the area has seen landslides for more than once. The repair work will soon start as the weather clears up. According to the Central Weather Bureau, the rain will continue for two or three days more because of the front and increasing north-east wind. The public should be aware of falling rocks, landslides and flood. TRANSLATED BY：ARIEL HSIEH 73歲的黃姓阿嬤看見行政院長林全到場勘災，哭著求院長幫忙，因為阿嬤是這次汐止水源路二段房屋地基遭掏空的受災戶之一，而現在1家10口只能借宿親友家。談起山崩的經過，阿嬤還是餘悸猶存。 ==住戶== 下雨很突然 我聽到趕快起來 看到外面就像海浪一樣 樹也一棵棵倒 我才趕快叫小孩起來 工程單位現已放置混凝土塊、及打鋼軌樁穩定房屋，後續淤積土和水土保持則由中央幫忙整治。同樣也因連日大雨不斷，造成土石崩落的，還有位在基隆市基金一路上的一處山坡，整個擋土牆塌陷，原本是可以行走的道路，也因路基流失，變成斷崖。 ==興寮里長 連淑慧== 昨天晚上大概九點半左右崩落 因為這邊住一個老鄰長 他聽到那個聲音出來看 就已經整個崩下去 ==安樂區長 駱文章== 早上六點地主也來現場看過 他跟我們轉達會連繫 當初施做的廠商 還有設計的技師過來勘查 有民眾得知後，冒著危險，緊急上山遷移祖墳。區長表示，這裡土石崩落已經不是第一次，山坡周邊的住戶已先撤離，等到天氣穩定，再重新施工。根據氣象局預報資料，受鋒面通過及東北風增強，雨勢還會持續兩、三天，民眾仍得嚴防落石坍方、土石流及淹水。 記者 王柏文 陳保羅 基隆 新北報導
