Presidential office building opens to public / 人民的總統府 520後首次開放民眾參觀　　　　　　　　　　

On Sept. 18, the Presidential Office Building was opened to the public for the first time after the Tsai administration took office. The line started forming around 7 in the morning way before the doors open at 9. For the first time since President Tsai Ing-wen took office, the Presidential Office Building was opened to the public. Although it did not open until 9 am, at 7 am there were already people queuing up. Some visitors from Taoyuan were even there at 5 am. ==MR. PENG Visitor== (What do you most want to see?) Nothing particular, but it would be good to see the occupant. Many parents brought their children along. ==MR. WANG Visitor== We came in August, and it wasn't open, so we came specially today. The public is allowed to enter from the main door and then take a guided tour with volunteers. Many took the opportunity to take photos. After touring the office, many felt it was not as imposing as they had thought. ==MR. TSENG Visitor== I always felt this was the base of our country's leader. It seemed impossible that ordinary people could go in there, so today when it seems like it's close to us, ordinary people, so I'm really happy. Presidential Office secretary-general Lin Bih-jaw personally greeted visitors in the Zhongshan Hall and emphasized that the building belonged to the electorate. One of the volunteer guides is a second generation immigrant who is a student at National Taiwan University. ==CHEN CHIN-LING Volunteer guide== My mother is from Vietnam. I'm what's known as a new immigrant. This is the first time that I have been a volunteer guide here. It's the first time that child of a new immigrant has been a guide here to serve visitors. The new administration arranged a new exhibition in the building introducing the history of the building from authoritarian colonial times to democratic rule. It aims to give a people-friendly image of the current government. TRANSLATED BY：CLARE LEAR 總統蔡英文上台後，總統府首次開放民眾參觀，雖然是九點才開始入場，不過七點多就大排長龍，最早來排隊的是來自桃園的鄉親，一大早五點多就家裡出發。 ==參觀民眾 彭先生== (待會展覽想要看些什麼) 沒有 最好是看到主人最好 也有不少家長利用這個機會，帶著小孩前來參觀總統府。 ==參觀民眾 王先生== 八月份的時候我們有來過 結果沒有開 他很失望 今天特地再帶他來這樣子 不過總統府特別安排民眾從大門進入參觀，在導覽志工的引導介紹下走進總統府，當然大家也把握機會拍照，不少民眾參觀完總統府後覺得，總統府並沒有想像中的那麼嚴肅。 ==參觀民眾 曾先生== 平常總是覺得這邊是那個 國家元首的地方 覺得好像深不可測 今天好像非常平民接近我們 我們真的很高興 總統府秘書長林碧炤親自在中山廳迎接參觀民眾，並強調這是個人民的總統府。 這次總統府開放參觀，有一名導覽志工是新住民第二代，而且是台大的高材生，格外具有意義。 ==導覽志工 陳金鈴== 我的母親是越南人 我也是所謂的新住民之子 這是我第一次擔任總統府的志工 很開心能在新總統上任 然後第一次 把總統府打開的這個時候 有新住民之子可以一起 加入志工團隊服務大家 謝謝 蔡政府上台以後的首次總統府開放參觀，也特別重新打造府內的展覽內容，介紹總統府從威權時代走到目前民主的歷史過程，就是希望能將蔡政府塑造成以人民為主的形象。 記者 張志雄 陳信隆 台北報導
