On July 11, 2,000 taxis surrounded the Legislative Yuan and Katagalan Boulevard protesting against Uber's continued operation in Taiwan. They made five demands, including imposing fines on private cars operating as taxis. Government departments and taxi associations held negotiations. After this the Ministry of Economic Affairs' Investment Commission said after the Ministry of Transport and Communications provides evidence of illegal activity, it would handle the issue on the principle of foreign investment and at the most severe could revoke UBER's investment license.
This skit shows taxi drivers taking out their anger on a car with an UBER sticker. The Taiwan Taxi Association mobilized 2,000 taxis to surround the Legislative Yuan and Kategalan Boulevard to protest against UBER's illegality. They made five demands and want a response.

We demand that the MOEA Investment Commission uses the 18 regulation on foreign investment to revoke UBER's license. It is registered as an info-tech company but is working as a transport company
UBER has been operating in Taiwan for over 3 years and its business model has expanded. Traditional taxis have lost 20 to 30 percent of their business. Taxis drivers complain, but the public has a different opinions.
==MEMBER OF PUBLIC==
Because UBER is illegal and doesn't pay tax and is not safe.
==MEMBER OF PUBLIC==
Because then I don't have to worry.
The Taiwan Taxi Association reckons that UBER is operating illegally and suggests that government amend the law in order to punish it to stop it operating.
==LIN HSU-KUO Dep. Dir-Gen MOTC Dept. of Stats.==
After coming to a consensus on amending the law, as the MOTC we are duty-bound to fully support the measures

What consumers want is a variety of services. Then, from the service industry's point of view, they want to allow more diverse services operate in this market.
Ever since UBER took to the road it has been controversial and it choses to reply to the taxi industry's accusations with press releases which reiterate that the government should relax regulations in line with international law for a win-win situation.

==民眾==
==民眾==
APP(叫UBER)吧 (為什麼)
