On-arrival Saliva PCR Testing Ended on Sept. 29 國境鬆綁 今起入境每週6萬人次.免PCR

Taiwan is gradually opening its borders. Starting Sept. 29 the weekly cap on arrivals has been increased to 60,000 and on-arrival saliva PCR testing has also ended.The PCR waiting area and saliva testing in Taoyuan Airport's arrival hall have been removed. Starting Sept. 29, inbound travelers no longer need to wait in line for PCR testing. Instead, they will receive four rapid screening tests to bring home. They can go straight to the car after collecting their luggage and passing through customs.Passenger: “Quick screening is more convenient because PCR takes a long time. The accuracy of quick screening is also quite high.”Passenger: “It took about half an hour. Pretty fast. And they help confirm your information and fill it out for you. Very good.”The first phase of border relaxation will increase the maximum cap of visitors per week to 60,000. Visa-free travel has also been restored. Although inbound passengers still need to quarantine for 3 days plus another 4 days of self-management, they will no longer need to quarantine inside a dedicated house, but rather, they can quarantine in their own room at home.Epidemic Prevention Staff: “Quarantine starts today on the 29th. Don't go out before the 2nd. You can go out after the 3rd only if you test negative. There are 4 screening tests. Do the tests today and tomorrow, and again on the 2nd.”Chan Cheng-chi, Spokesperson, Taoyuan Airport Business Development Association: “At this critical moment, our businesses are very worried. This year's entry and exit passengers will reach 3.5 million. But unfortunately, this is only 7 percent of the pre-pandemic figure in 2010.”The association hopes business opportunities recover as soon as possible. In response to the gradual opening of Taiwan's borders, the Airport Company stated that it has completed its plan to adjust for passenger control, equipment, and manpower. At 5:00 p.m. every day, the Airport Company reviews the next day's operation plan, including confirmation of the peak traffic time, forecasting the number of entry passengers, and estimating the number of epidemic prevention taxis and support vehicles.   桃園機場航廈入境大廳PCR等候區已經撤掉，唾液篩檢貨櫃也關閉，第一階段邊境解封首日，旅客入境不用再排隊等做PCR採檢，只需要領4劑家用快篩試劑回家自己驗，民眾領完行李過了海關後，就可以直接去搭車。旅客說道：「快篩比較方便，因為PCR的話要花比較長的時間，快篩基本上準確度也還蠻高的。」旅客指出，「差不多半小時很快，而且他們裡頭有專門幫你確認資料、代填，非常好的。」第一階段邊境解封，除了每週入境人數上限提升到6萬人次，全面恢復免簽待遇外，入境旅客雖然仍要進行3+4防疫措施，不過不用再1人1戶，而是以1人1室為原則。防疫人員表示：「檢疫今日29日到（10月）2日之前不要出門，3日之後要陰性才可以外出，這裡面有4次，今天、明天回去做第一次，2日再做一次。」桃園機場產業發展協會發言人詹成吉指出：「在這關鍵時刻我們業者非常恐慌，今（2022）年的出入境將會達到350萬，但是可惜的，這個應該是2019年疫情前的數字的7%。」業者希望能儘速恢復商機。針對國門一階開放，機場公司表示，已經完成相關動線、設備、人力等調整計劃，另外，每日下午5時擬定隔天的監控計畫，包含確認尖峰時段區間、入境預報人數、預估防疫車隊數及支援車輛數，做滾動式檢討因應。
