The latest outbreak in New Taipei City are posting great challenges for schools in the neighboring Taipei City for the proximity.
Presenter: An elementary school in Nangang District has suspended classes as a precautionary measure regarding the latest cluster infections in New Taipei City. At present, There are three elementary schools and four preschools that have taken this precautionary measure in Taipei City. 619 people were affected.
Workers disinfect this elementary school located in Taipei's Nangang District. The school suspended classes as a precautionary measure on Sept. 8. According to an epidemic investigation, a parent of a child attending this school is good friends with a parent of a child who attends the New Taipei City preschool where a cluster infection erupted. The latter parent has tested positive. The two families went on a trip together at the end of August. Classes were suspended for those in the same grade as the student from Sept. 8 to 12, and will resume on Sept. 13.
Academic Director, (unnamed) Nangang District Elementary School:” The student in question was not at school during the entire day on Sept. 7. This student and family members have already taken PCR tests. As of 11 p.m. last night, all results were negative.”
The cluster infection that occurred at the New Taipei City preschool is spreading. Potential contacts have been identified at three Taipei elementary schools, one each in Nangang District, Zhongzheng District, and Datong District, and four preschools, one in Nangang District, one in Zhongshan District, and two in Zhongzheng District that share a campus. They have all taken the precautionary measure of suspending classes. A total of 619 people are affected, and 169 are isolating at home as a precautionary measure.
Tsai Ping-kun, Deputy Taipei City Mayor:” As of now, we haven't yet seen any positive tests or confirmed cases. There's no need to worry right now about a full suspension of classes, but we need to be cautious. Under a Level 3 alert, classes would be suspended across the entire city.”
Taipei and New Taipei City share living circles, so it's possible that Taipei may suspend classes citywide if New Taipei City is forced to do so. The Taipei City Government says it will progressively adjust measures as the situation develops. If the central government raises the alert to Level 3, then it will suspend classes citywide.
仔細噴灑消毒，台北市南港區這間國小8日進行預防性停課。根據疫調，南港區這間國小的家長與新北市幼兒園確診家長是好友，8月底兩家曾一起出遊，這名學生的班級，從8起停課到12日，13日復課。
南港區某國小教務主任：「該名學生在9月7日，也就是昨天全天都未到學校來上課，同時該名學生跟家人都已經做了PCR檢測，到昨天晚上11點最新的消息指出，檢測結果全部都是陰性。」
新北市幼兒園群聚感染案再擴大，目前已經匡列南港區、中正區和大同區各一所、共三所國小，以及南港區一所、中山區一所、中正區兩所同校區、共四所幼兒園採取預防性停課，共有619人預防性停課，169人預防性居家隔離。
台北市副市長 蔡炳坤：「到目前我們都還沒有，這個陽性或確診的病例、沒有，是要到全部的停課，這個部分先不用，先不用過於緊張，但是我們必須要嚴謹，第三級(警戒)就會全市性的停課。」
雙北共同生活圈，隨著疫情蔓延，會不會和新北市共同採取全市停課？台北市表示，將視疫情變化做滾動式檢討，假如中央提升為三級警戒，就會採取全市停課。
