Tourism Bubble with Guam Next? 關島觀光局來函 盼與台洽談旅遊泡泡

Guam's tourism bureau has officially confirmed that it recently sent a letter to Taiwan's Ministry of Transportation and Communications to open talks about a tourism bubble between Taiwan and Guam. It also says half of all its population will be vaccinated by May.
Guam is trying to resurrect its tourism industry and is pursuing "tourism corridors" with Taiwan, Japan, and South Korea. Guam's Visitors Bureau has already asked Taiwan to open talks.

Travel agents say Guam has scenery and shopping malls to offer. Pre-pandemic, Taiwan ranked first among all countries in tourist spending in Guam. Mid-level tour packages to Guam were priced at around NT$40,000 before COVID-19. If a tourism corridor happens, prices will likely be higher due to additional testing costs.
Prices will depend on bus companies, local travel agencies, airlines, and hotels. We expect tour packages to be priced at NT$70,000-80,000.
One epidemiologist says the zero cases of COVID-19 in Guam and residential situations that are more complex than Palau mean itineraries will have to be planned very carefully.

關島觀光局台灣辦事處代表 嚴樹芬表示：「台灣的疫情控制，還有台灣的旅遊素質，就是我們的國人的旅遊素質。跟過去的紀錄上面，（關島)都表示熱忱的歡迎，也當然被列為說，最優先考慮可以到關島，去造訪跟旅遊的國家之一。」
旅行業者表示，關島除了自然風情，購物中心也很受遊客歡迎，台灣遊客在疫情前，是關島消費力最高的國外客，過去，由台灣出發的中階的關島團，團費大約在四萬元台幣上下，未來若確定以"旅遊泡泡形式"，"團進團出加上採檢"的模式操作，價格勢必上揚，屆時就要看航空公司，和當地的接待飯店開出的價格。
燦星旅遊發言人 陳宏勝表示：「價格，永遠掌握在所謂的供應商手上。供應商就包含車公司、地接服務社 航空公司、住宿成本，所以這個一高上去，我們預估，至少要在七、八萬以上。」
有防疫專家提醒，關島仍有零星疫情，而且島上居民狀況，比帛琉略為複雜，若是台灣關島旅遊泡泡談成，相關動線和團體行程規劃，一定要更審慎。
