Does Jaw Meet Party Requirements to Run for KMT Chair? 參選國民黨主席? 趙少康舉黨規捍衛資格

BCC Chair Jaw Shaw-kong is returning to the Kuomintang and may have his sights set on the party chair position. Jaw says based on KMT by-laws, he meets the requirements to run for that office. In a press release, KMT Chair Johnny Chiang says the party plans to invite Jaw to join its Central Review Committee after Lunar New Year.

Based on Kuomintang by-laws, Jaw Shaw-kang says he is eligible to run for party chair even though he only recently rejoined the party.

You can't apply last year's by-election regulations to the new election this year. This year's regulations haven't even been announced yet. I'm not trying to bend the rules. I am following the rules to the letter. I want to run to open new doors for the next generation.

Jaw says he is good friends with current party Chair Johnny Chiang, and he wants the opportunity to work on behalf of the party as party chair. However, he is also fine with being just a party member.

KMT Culture and Communications Committee Director Wang Yu-min says the party will invite Jaw to join its Central Review Committee.

As far as I know, invitations to serve on the Central Review Committee will go out after Lunar New Year. Mr. Jaw is on the invite list. Candidates must meet candidacy requirements. This has been the case since the Wu Po-hsiung era. In the past, the (membership requirement) was four months. During the Wu Den-yih era, this was changed to one year.

In a press release, Chiang said Jaw rejoining the KMT will greatly boost pan-blue unity. In addition, he said the Central Standing Committee would have to amend party by-laws for Jaw to run for party chair.

重返國民黨的中廣董事長趙少康拋出震撼彈，表態有意參加今年的黨主席選舉，但黨齡還未滿1年，是否具備參選資格，引發議論，他再度親上火線，拿出國民黨主席選舉辦法和補選施行細則，認為自己的條件沒有問題。

中廣董事長趙少康表示：「你怎麼可以拿去年的補選辦法說，這就是國民黨的規定，然後來約束今年新的選舉。今年新的選舉辦法還沒有出來，我沒有要破壞規矩，我完全照規矩來。世代交替，我為什麼還要出來？就是希望替下一代新生代，開創更大的空間嘛！」

秀出黨主席江啟臣送他的新年禮物，趙少康強調兩人的好交情，更說沒有要破壞規矩，直言選上黨主席可以做事，不當也可以，現在就看江啟臣要不要聘任他為中評委，國民黨文傳會主委王育敏證實，趙少康已經恢復國民黨籍，更透露，他將被聘任中評委。

國民黨文傳會主委王育敏表示：「就我所知，年後主席會有一波，新的中評委的發聘書的行動。在這名單當中，趙先生就會是其中之一，候選人必須具備有選舉人的資格，這個是從過去吳伯雄時代到現在，這個規定一直都在的。過去是4個月，但是在吳敦義時代，因為人頭黨員的問題，已經從4個月改成是1年。」

江啟臣也發出新聞稿表示，趙少康重回國民黨對於藍軍團結深具意義，不過，能否參選黨主席，不是誰說了算，還是要有中常委提案修改規定，獲得黨內共識通過，才能幫趙少康解套。
