People Swarm in and Experience Taichung MRT Test Run|台中首條捷運試營運首日 民眾搶先體驗

The much-awaited Taichung Metro Green Line is finally ready and has started its test run on November 16. Some people came from afar by bus to take the MRT and some came to take the MRT from the first stop to the end. More than 2,000 people swarm in to take the MRT during the rush hour. Will the heat of taking the MRT be reduced once it starts charging after a month? More observation continues. Taichung City Mayor Lu Shiow-yen said that problems and issues that surface will be improved during this period of test run.
A couple from Shalu came early this morning to experience Taichung MRT on the first day of its test run.
Today is the first day in service so we wanted to come and try it out. We thought it might be a fun thing to do.
However, the platform screen door at Songzhu station only opens for 15 seconds and shuts immediately after the beeping stops, unlike the ones in Taipei and Taoyuan airport line, which have some buffer time. Some passenger's backpack almost got jammed when the door had shut.
Some passengers also noticed the train to the green line making strange sounds when turning. The Taichung MRT test run plans to run free of charge for a month. When actual service begins, citizens can decide again on when to take the bus and when to take the MRT since bus rides are free under ten kilometers.
How long does it take for you to get to school when you take the MRT? About ten minutes or so, it is fast. How long did it take on the bus before? Around fifteen to twenty minutes.
How was the MRT ride? It was smooth, except when the train turned it made more sounds. Was it metal friction sounds? It was quite noisy, and it didn't sound like the Taipei MRT when I took it.
Taichung City Mayor Lu Shiow-yen arrived 9am at the Songzhu Station on the first day of test run for an inspection. She was quite satisfied with seeing more than 2,000 passengers taking the train during the rush hour.
Several pressure tests will also be taking place during the period of test runs. Changes and adjustments will be made accordingly.
Today is just the first day of test run. We will be conducting several pressure tests in the following month to get to know people's needs and where we can make changes for the better.
Passengers during rush hour usually reach more than 2,000. This is a normal flow of passengers.
Taichung Metro took eleven years to finish, and test runs started on November 16. If everything runs smoothly, Taichung Metro will officially be in service starting December 19.

民眾表示:「今天開業,來坐啊!今天出來玩開心。」
不過台中捷運在松竹站的閘門時間只有15秒,蜂鳴器響完的最後一刻閘門立刻緊閉,不同於北捷桃捷還有緩衝時間,中捷有乘客的背包險些被夾。
有民眾試乘後,發現中捷全線在轉彎時會出現異音,也有學生表示,捷運免費試乘結束後,要選擇十公里免費公車還是捷運,可能會在費用和時間上再精打細算一下。
學生表示:「(選擇搭捷運,你到你學校大概還要多久的時間?) 應該十分鐘就到了,很快。(那以前坐公車呢?) 差不多十五到二十(分鐘)。」
民眾表示:「(中捷試乘)比較柔順一點,可是就是在轉彎的時候,聲音大一點。(大概是金屬磨擦聲音嗎?) 那個大的聲音,我覺得,我跟在台北坐捷運的聲音,是不大相同的耶。」
台中市長盧秀燕,在試營運第一天的上午九點,到台中捷運松竹站視察,對於尖峰時段一小時內有兩千多人次表示滿意。試營運期間也會進行各類的壓力測試,並進行檢討改進。
台中市長 盧秀燕表示:「因為今天是第一天試營運,未來在這一個月當中,我們會透過這樣的一個壓力測試,來了解民眾的需求,或者哪些地方,需要再調整或是改進。」
台中捷運董事長 林志盈表示:「尖峰時刻的人流,一般來講,(全線)二千多人次,應該是一個正常的人流。」
台中捷運,歷經十一個年頭終於完工,11月16號正式開放給民眾試乘,如果一切順利,預計在12月19日正式通車。
