Hualien Distillery Offers 95% Alcohol for Purchase|花蓮酒廠開放購95%酒精 1人限4.5公升

Aside from an acute shortage of face masks, consumers in Taiwan have also been unable to find rubbing alcohol. The Hualien Distillery began to sell their 95 percent alcohol and those who wish to buy need to bring an ID card and their own containers.

Hualien residents were lining up in front of the Hualien Distillery before the clock strikes 7 in the morning to purchase disinfecting alcohol. The security guard at the front gate did not receive instruction to allow the public to enter, therefore the crowds were infuriated.

We left the house around 5 a.m. and 6 a.m. to come here. If we went home empty-handed, then everyone would start arguing and fighting.

You didn't issue us numbers and blocked us out at the gate. I left the house early at 7 a.m. and still can't get the alcohol, same as those who come later at 8am or 9am.

The shortage of alcohol is being observed everywhere in Taiwan. The Hualien Distillery has arranged especially to open the distillery and sell the 95 percent high concentration of alcohol to the general public. People need to fill out related information, bring their IDs and their own containers in order to purchase the alcohol since it is a controlled item. A person is limited to purchasing 4.5 liters.

We didn't expect the large crowds. Originally, we set the limit at 200 people, and will open to another 200 people tomorrow morning. We will see how it goes. If everything goes smoothly, then maybe we can take 400 people today.

However as the crowd grew, the Distillery decided to issue out number cards so that people can come back and purchase the next day.

I hope they can improve customer flow. If not, both the consumers and staffs would be exhausted and the outcome would be bad.

The Hualien Distillery stressed 1/4 of clean water needs to be added to the 95 percent alcohol to dilute the concentration to 65 percent to 75 percent alcohol and the items can't be placed in a high-temperature area. The Distillery will release a quota of 200 people a day. Currently, the Distillery still has a year worth of in-stocks available for purchase.

為了要趕緊買到可以消毒殺菌用的安全酒精，不少花蓮民眾不到七點就來花蓮酒場排隊，不過大門口警衛沒有收到通知不敢放行，讓無法進入的民眾很生氣。

花蓮民眾表示：「從5、6點我們就出發來到這裡，現在到時候沒有拿到，那到時候大家再來吵架，再來打架。」

花蓮民眾表示：「你現在也沒有號碼牌，就通通把我們擋在門口不能進去，那等一下9點;、8點到的，還不是跟我7點出門的一樣早。」

受到各地都買不到酒精的影響，花蓮酒廠因此特別開放廠內的95%高濃度酒精給民眾購買，但是這是管制品，民眾必須填寫相關資料，並且憑身分證才能購買，一人限購4.5公升，需自帶容器。

花蓮酒廠廠長莊肇華表示：「沒有預期到民眾會那麼多人來買，所以當初我們是設定兩百個，然後明天早上再開放兩百個，因為看啦！如果說大家的進度快的話，我們今天也可以做到四百個沒問題。」

不過現場排隊人潮越來越多，肯定是無法讓所有排隊的人都買到，因此酒廠決定發號碼牌，讓領到號碼牌的民眾可以隔天再來。

花蓮民眾表示：「希望它動線可以改一下，因為群眾一來是盲目的，要不然的話，工作人員也很累，買的人也很累，效果很差。」

花蓮酒廠強調，這批95%的高濃度酒精需要添加1/4清水，稀釋成65%到75%的酒精，並且避免放在高溫的地方，酒廠每天都會開放200個名額購買，目前廠區還有一年的庫存量供貨沒有問題。
