All other candidates running for Taipei mayor have drawn their own lot. Independent candidate Wu Eh-yang got the No. 1 lot, KMT Candidate Ting Shou-chung received the NO. 2 lot, DPP Candidate Pasuya Yao received No. 3, incumbent mayor and independent candidate Ko Wen-je received No. 4 and independent candidate Lee Si-Kuen got No. 5.
This No. 4 lot is great for us. Even if the public give us four more years, we'd still have only 8 years (in office). The election itself is no big deal, please vote for our mayor Ko Wen-je.
I think the No. 2 lot is very good, and it's easy to signal it. I just need to raise a "V" sign, it signifies victory.
Back when I helped Frank Hsieh win the election for Kaohsiung mayor, I had No. 3 and we won that hard fought battle. I think this number is very auspicious, and it'll help turn our luck around.
The result of the draw for candidates running for mayors of Taiwan's six major cities are as follows: in New Taipei, DPP candidate Su Tseng-chang received the No. 1 lot, and KMT candidate Hou You-Yi got the No. 2 lot. For Taichung city mayor, independent candidate Sung Yuan-tung drew the No. 1 lot, incumbent mayor Lin Chia-lung received No. 2, and KMT Candidate Lu Shiow-yen received the No. 3 lot. Tainan saw the biggest number of candidates, with the No. 1 lot going to DPP candidate Huang Wei-cher, KMT candidate Kao Su-po got the No. 2 lot, No. 3 to No. 6 respectively went to Lin Yih-Feng, Hsu Chung-hsin, Chen Yung-ho and Su Huan-chih, all are independent candidates. For Kaohsiung city mayor, KMT candidate Han Kuo-yu got the No. 1 lot, DPP candidate Chen Chi-mai got No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 lot went respectively to Chu Mei-feng and Su Ying-kui, both independent candidates. DPP candidate Chen Chi-mai arrived at the drawing event on an electric scooter, expressing his hope to improve the air quality for Kaohsiung City.
No. 2 signals victory. I hope that not only I win the mayoral election, Kaohsiung should win at the end as well.
I got the No. 1 lot. I am fully confident that Kaohsiung will rise again after 20 years of slumber.
KMT candidate Han Kuo-yu accidentally dropped his number during drawing. The supporter said the gesture is similar to the pilgrim in temple, who drop their picks on their ground to pray for good luck. The conclusion of the draw signals that the local elections, which are 36 days away, are in the final preparation phase.
