CAA ALLOTS TRANSASIA'S OPERATION RIGHTS TO DOMESTIC AIRLINERS|民航局:復興航權收回分配 國內線不中斷

After TransAsia Airways unexpectedly ceased operations and shut down last November, the Ministry of Transportation arranged for the China Airlines group to continue TransAsia's services up to February 15th of this year. The Civil Aeronautics Administration has now announced that TransAsia's service operation rights have been divided among other airlines and approved by the Ministry of Transportation. Domestic air services, which have come under much attention after TransAsia's shutdown, will continue. Starting on February 16th, the Taipei-Hualien service will be operated by Uni Air and the Taichung-Hualien service will be operated by Mandarin Airlines. A consensus has finally be reached regarding the division of TransAsia's service operation rights after the airline's dissolution. It is now confirmed that TransAsia's former Hualien services will continue. Starting February 16th, Uni Air will operate Taipei-Hualien and Mandarin Airlines will operate Taichung-Hualien. ==CHEN CHAO-YU CAA Planning Division Chief== We have divided up the service operations rights among the airlines, and then the airlines will be free to arrange their flight schedules. Mandarin Airlines took over Hualien air services after TransAsia shut down, but Mandarin has expressed dissatisfaction that the service was a money sink. Many are worried that Hualien services may be discontinued, but after many rounds of CAA negotiations, an agreement has been reached to bundle TransAsia's money-making services with its money-losing services.The China Airlines and EVA Air groups, which are taking over Hualien service, will also receive TransAsia's lucrative Shanghai services.However, TransAsia's labor disputes are still ongoing. Taipei's Department of Labor had scheduled a seventh labor-management negotiation for the 20th, but the negotiation failed to reach quorum when TransAsia's management declined to attend, citing that its assets were still being settled. ==HUANG YU-MING Labor Standards Div. So (the negotiations) have to be delayed until it can be clear if either side will change their representatives. The Department of Labor has issued a deadline for TransAsia to confirm its representatives in the labor association, and will designate representatives itself if TransAsia does not do so. TransAsia's labor union is threatening further measures if the management continues to delay.
