CREATIVE MYTHOLOGY MURALS HELP REGENERATE RURAL VILLAGE|雲林偏鄉小村3D彩繪 盼吸引觀光人潮

To attract more visitors, the walls of many houses at the Bodong village of Yunlin County's Sihu Township have been painted with 3D portrayals of Chinese mythologies. However, some of those murals seem to have a different take on the well known stories. As visitors approach Bodong, they are first welcomed by these colorful murals. This one, in particular, stokes the interest of many viewers, as the famous story depicted in it is somewhat different from how most people remember it. Chang E, or the goddess of moon, is no longer slender, and the moon rabbit, who is supposed to be pounding a motor, is subject to a more gruesome fate. ==TSENG CHIN-CHENG, 3D Artist== Chang E is supposed to be slender and beautiful, but in our version, she's had a bit too much moon barbecue. Tseng used to be an artisan who paints and decorates temples. After he learned how to make 3D paintings in Thailand, he was invited by the local tourism administration office to paint these murals, and all of them are creatively adapted from Chinese mythologies. ==VISITOR== They're certainly very interesting. You kind of feel like you need to take another look, get some photos and interact with it. ==TSENG CHIN-CHENG, 3D Artist== The plan is to attract more people and then work on regenerating the village. That's what I'm aiming for. It's more than just painting murals. Once people start to come, there will be more business opportunities for local residents. By putting his creative skills to use, Tseng is doing his part to help regenerate a rural village. By November, about ten more murals will be completed to attract more visitors, bring new hope to an old village. TRANSLATED BY：JEFF CHANG 雲林四湖鄉的箔東村，為了要吸引觀光人潮，有3D彩繪畫家，用中國神話故事，作為創作主題，畫在矮房牆面，遊客來玩，還能跟畫作互動。 開車來到四湖鄉箔東村，沿路都可以看到彩繪牆面，尤其是這面牆相當吸引人，角色有吳剛、玉兔跟嫦娥，不過跟我們記憶中的故事完全不同，吳剛不砍樹竟然烤玉兔，而且原本應該是苗條美人的嫦娥，卻變了一個模樣。 ==彩繪藝術家 曾進成== （過去印象)她是很苗條的 很美的 可是呢 我們用另外的方式表現出來 就是吳剛在上面就是 烤玉兔給她吃 把她養肥了 讓她飛不上去 過去從事廟宇彩繪的曾進成，為了讓更多人看到他的作品，特別前往泰國學習3D彩繪技法，現在受雲嘉南風景管理處邀請，以中國神話故事為創作主題，再加入KUSO想法畫在矮牆上面，要讓民眾能更加融入畫作。 ==參觀民眾== 就是會多一點趣味性 不會只是看一看而已 還會想要跟它入鏡 互動 可以玩這樣子 ==彩繪藝術家 曾進成== 把這人潮帶進來之後 去改造這偏鄉 這才是我要的東西 而不是只有來這裡畫畫 今天我希望說來這邊做畫後 讓在地一些里民 他們能夠以家為店 一筆一畫專心作畫，彩繪藝術家曾進成，希望透過畫筆，讓偏鄉注入新活力，預估十一月份就能完成十多面彩繪牆，希望能讓遊客與畫作互動，進而帶動偏鄉的遊客潮，讓老村落看到新希望。 記者王威雄 雲林報導
