Taiwanese budget airlines Tigerair Taiwan and V air faced difficulties in running their business after starting their operations 2 years ago. While it is said that flights of V air have decreased and V air is about to close it business, Tigerair Taiwan struggles to survive.
Flight tickets of budget airlines sold out immediately. Taiwanese budget airlines Tigerair Taiwan and V air both started their operation in 2014. However, they have seen an accumulated deficit over NT$ 10 billion dollars over the past 2 years. It is said that V air will close its business soon because of its unpromising future.

It's a pity. We won't get to fly on a budget airline in the future. We may have to spend more money on buying flight tickets.

Budget airlines make going abroad cheaper. I don't know why V air plans to close its business. I really want to know the reasons.
V air is a franchise subsidiary of TransAsia Airways. Due to V air's decreasing number of flights, and TransAsia Airways' transformation into an airline between full-service airlines and budget airlines, TransAsia Airways plans to shut down V air. As to Tigerair Taiwan, a joint venture between China Airlines Group and Tiger Airways Holdings, it has put the brakes on its new flight route to Sapporo recently. Experts said that Taiwan's budget airlines strive to survive in unfavorable situations.

Airline fleet of Taiwanese budget airlines is comparatively smaller than that of other airlines. Therefore, the purchase cost will be relatively high, which leads to a higher operating cost. The sold cheap flight tickets cannot make ends meet with it, so Taiwanese budget airlines need to increase their load factor. However, there is a limited number of Taiwanese people going abroad, and international visitors do not know much about these two budget airlines, which make both budget airlines hard to run their business.
Taiwan's budget airline market is marked with a late start, and does not have a full support from the government. Experts believe that the government should provide funds and comprehensive plans to help draw more visitors and expand the budget airline market.
