On July 21, Tzu Chi announced it signed an agreement with BNT's agent Fosun Pharma to purchase 5 million doses of the BNT vaccine, and it will now sign an agreement with the government to donate the vaccines.
The CDC said it will apply to the Food and Drug Administration for emergency use authorization to import the vaccines purchased by Tzu Chi , as well as those donated by Hon Hai's Yonglin Foundation and TSMC, totaling 15 million doses. It will also seek to allow this vaccine to be used for people aged 12 to 18.
疾管署表示，本專案比照先前台積電、鴻海與永齡基金會捐贈專案模式，向食藥署申請EUA專案輸入許可，並將12-18歲未成年人納入使用對象範圍。
