Some press reported that the bookings for the May 1st long in Hualien has restored to its normal level, but hotel operators said helplessly that the occupancy rate only increased for May 1st but fell sharply after May 2nd. Some hotel personnel did not even receive any calls of inquiry.

The occupancy rate in Hualien's hotels is about 60 percent, and decreases to 50 percent on May 2nd. The cluster infection on naval ships did have an impact on the public.

The average occupancy rate of B＆Bs in Hualien is 30 percent to 40 percent because the Central Government issued travel warnings for certain areas and people refrain from travelling during the pandemic. Therefore the impact on us is quite significant.

Crowd warnings were issued for 6 tourist attractions in Hualien. Other than Dongdamen, Qixingtan Beach, New Paradiso, Liyu Carp Lake, the Ocean Park and the Yiyuan Resort were on the list, with some operators complaining the result is not accurate, therefore hurting their businesses. Meanwhile, the County Government is continuing its effort to disinfect all tourist attractions.



為了應付即將來的5/1連假可能人潮，花蓮縣政府在東大門夜市四個入口處裝上了紅外線顯像儀，並派員控管區內不可超過5000人，攤販大多感謝縣府幫忙，但對人潮和買氣卻不太有信心。

花蓮縣政府觀光旅遊處副處長 張志翔表示：「我們四個入口都同步在做管制，一到五千人，我們就會啟動總額的管制措施。」

花蓮東大門福町夜市主委 黃家明表示：「其實我們店家比遊客還多啦，到現在為止啦，你遊客像假日的話，人潮量會比較多，可是現在消費能力也是很低。」

而根據一些媒體的報導，5/1連假花蓮的旅宿業訂房率已恢復水準，對此業者無奈表示，其實只有5/1號當天稍有起色，5/2號之後又狂掉，有的業者連詢問電話都沒有接到。

花蓮縣觀光旅館商業同業公會理事長 高水祿表示：「（花蓮飯店業)1號大概六成多啦，那2號也下降到五成，軍艦的感染，大眾的心裡面還是怕怕的。」

花蓮縣民宿協會理事長 葉陳錦表示：「（花蓮民宿業)大概平均3到4成而已，中央有發布一些警訊，然後也是說，放假不一定要出來玩，所以它的影響是很大的。」

而花蓮目前一共有6處被列入人潮警示區，除了東大門外，還有七星潭、新天堂樂園、鯉魚潭、海洋公園、怡園渡假村，這被公佈的地點有部份業者表示不滿，認為計算方式不公，縣府則是對各景點擴大消毒。
