Improved Traffic Conditions on Second Day of Holiday|蘇花路廊上午仍車多 路況相較昨日順暢

Traffic flowed fairly smoothly on the second day of the Tomb-sweeping Festival long weekend. There was only sporadic congestion. The improved Suhua Highway saw numerous vehicles, but the traffic flow was much smoother compared to the previous day.


Cars travel on the southbound lane inside a tunnel along the improved Suhua Highway. The number of vehicles bound for Hualien and Taitung on the second day of the Tomb Sweeping Festival long weekend remained high, with Operation Control Center statistics showing a vehicle flow rate of 700 vehicles per hour. During times with a large number of cars, the speed along local road sections fell to 25 kilometers per hour. The travel time from Suao to Chongde via the improved Suhua Highway was about 105 minutes.

The hourly flow rate up to now is approximately 700 to 800 vehicles, so right now conditions are fairly smooth.

On the first day of the long weekend, the highway was congested from 2 a.m. until late evening. A total of 21,529 vehicles traveled along the highway on that day, a new record since the highway was reopened. Conditions were better on the second day both on the highway and across Taiwan. There was only sporadic congestion. The speed for National Highway No. 1 south of Hukou was under 40 kilometers per hour, while there were no traffic jams on National Highway No. 5. The Freeway Bureau says it may need to lower its estimated vehicle flow rate.

There may still be the possibility of congestion on the Hsinchu System Interchange, the Taichung System Interchange, and the Changhua System Interchange to the Puyan System Interchange, so we advise motorists to keep abreast of road conditions.

The bureau reminds people to check road conditions before heading out or to take alternative routes.



蘇花改隧道內，南下車潮一輛接著一輛，上午往花蓮台東方向車輛仍多，行控中心統計，大約每小時700輛次，車多時，局部路段時速降到25公里左右，走蘇花改從蘇澳到崇德旅行時間大約105分鐘

公路總局四工處主任 陳國正表示：「每小時的量，到目前為止，大概是都七百多、八百多這樣的量，所以目前，都還是保持一個順暢的狀況。」

蘇花路廊在連續假第一天，從清晨兩點塞到晚上，全日流量來到21529輛次，創下通車以來，運量新高，連假第二天，路況相對較為順暢。

而國道高速公路上午，北中南只有零星壅塞，國1湖口南下，時速不到40公里，國道五號則沒有塞車，高公局估計，車流量可能比預期再下修。

高公局交管組科長 徐福聲表示：「新竹系統還有像台中、彰化系統到埔鹽系統來講的話，還是有可能會出現車多的狀況，所以建議用路人在行車過程中，可以隨時留意路況。」

高公局提醒用路人，出發前先查詢路況，或善用替代道路。
