As Election Nears, DPP Distances Itself from Yang Hui-ju?|2020選戰倒數計時 綠營急切割楊蕙如？

The Democratic Progressive Party has come under attack over its ties to Yang Hui-ju, who paid members of an Internet Army to post online with the aim of influencing public opinion. The DPP is currently trying to distance itself from Yang, and DPP Chairperson Cho Jung-tai said everything requires proof and condemned indiscriminate accusations. Meanwhile, DPP vice presidential candidate William Lai campaigned in Matsu.


President Tsai Ing-wen received a Kiwanis International delegation on Dec. 5 in recognition of their contributions to society, which she said have allowed the world to see Taiwan. Tsai and her Democratic Progressive Party have come under attack over their ties to Yang Hui-ju, who is accused of paying members of an Internet Army to post online with the objective of influencing public opinion. The DPP has shifted into damage control mode and is trying to distance itself from Yang. DPP Chairperson Cho Jung-tai campaigned alongside DPP legislative candidate Lu Sun-ling at a traditional market on Dec. 5, and said everything requires proof.

Proof is required for everything, so we shouldn't make indiscriminate accusations. I've spent the past few days thinking about one thing, about how everyone is linking Yang Hui-ju with Frank Hsieh. If this is true, do you think Frank Hsieh told Yang Hui-ju to criticize me? I wouldn't believe it, even if I were beaten to death.

Cho added the DPP is suffering from these baseless accusations. Meanwhile, the party has stepped up its campaign efforts in places that traditionally vote against it. DPP vice presidential candidate William Lai traveled to Matsu on Dec. 5. At Nankan Airport, he was greeted by county councilors holding signs asking the government to address urgent transport issues to help Matsu develop its tourism.

At present, we already have 7-Eleven and Family Mart stores. That's why I am asking Premier Lai to have the two airlines establish a presence here. This would really help our tourism.

Lai met with senior citizens and walked through the streets. He was accompanied by DPP legislative candidate Li Wen as he campaigned. In light of the Yang Hui-ju scandal, the DPP says everyone should calm down and await the results of the judicial investigation.



總統蔡英文，府內接見同濟會相關幹部，肯定同濟會對於社會的貢獻，也讓國際看見台灣，雖然府內氣氛溫馨，但面對楊蕙如雇用網軍事件繼續延燒，被各黨重砲批評在做切割，民進黨現在壓力也不小，黨主席卓榮泰，一大早就冒雨跟著立委候選人呂孫綾，一起到市場掃街拜票，強調凡事要講求證據。

民進黨主席 卓榮泰表示：「任何事情都要講求證據，不要砲火亂射，我這幾天一直在想一件事情，大家把楊蕙如指向謝長廷，如果這個成真的話，你說謝長廷會叫楊蕙如來罵我，打死我都不會相信。」

卓榮泰認為，民進黨現在只是遭受到無端的牽連，不過選戰進入倒數，艱困選區更要繼續拉抬聲勢，民進黨副總統候選人賴清德前進馬祖，一下南竿機場，當地議員就手拿標語迎接，希望政府能夠正視交通迫切的問題，讓兩家航空業者進駐，協助離島觀光業順利發展。

連江縣議員 周瑞國表示：「現在你看看，我們連7-11、全家都進來了，所以我認為說，航空的部分，拜託一下賴院長，兩家進駐，其實一定讓我們觀光帶動起來。」

親切問候當地長輩，深入大街小巷，一整天行程，賴清德都將陪民進黨立委候選人李問掃街催票、拉抬聲勢，面對各黨質疑，民進黨口徑一致，呼籲各界靜待司法調查。
