KMT Legislator-at-large Nominations Stir Controversy|列不分區第10惹議 吳敦義:未對不起任何人

The Kuomintang has finalized its at-large legislator candidate list, which was controversial due to KMT Chair Wu Den-yin being listed 10th. KMT presidential candidate Han Kuo-yu, who unveiled his campaign logo, declined to comment.


While unveiling his campaign logo, which features the three colors of the ROC flag, the word "Up" surrounding Taiwan, and an upward-pointing arrow symbolizing a transformation into a safer, more prosperous Taiwan, presidential candidate Han Kuo-yu declined comment on the Kuomintang's controversial at-large legislator candidate list.

I will be frank. I don't personally know everyone (on the list) and it wouldn't be appropriate for me to comment on people I don't know.

In the face of massive criticism and a sit-in by the younger generation of KMT city councilors, party Chair Wu Den-yih said he had nothing to apologize for.

I haven't done anyone wrong, not even a little. I have been nothing but loyal in shouldering -- not enjoying -- this role. There's no at-large legislator candidate list that's going to please everyone.

KMT vice presidential candidate Simon Chang, meanwhile, said the party's at-large legislator candidate list fails to live up to the expectations of both the public and Han's national policy advisor team. Chang advocated separating presidential and at-large legislator nominations.

There's a general consensus (Wu Den-yih) should be listed 15th. (Is that your collective opinion?) Yes. This would demonstrate his humility and intentions. If, hypothetically speaking, Han Kuo-yu does not win the election, it wouldn't matter if (the KMT) wins the majority in the legislature. This is why I've told our national policy advisors that presidential and at-large legislator nominations should be separate.

Chang is not a member of any political party and therefore may not be overly familiar with party politics. Han says internal discussions will be held and an account given to the public at a later date. The party's Central Standing Committee will review the candidate list on the 16th. Several committee members reportedly plan to vote against the list.

國民黨總統參選人 韓國瑜表示：「我很誠實跟大家報告，我並不認識每一個人，這第一點，有一些我不認識的，我不好評論。」

面對反彈聲浪一波接一波，還有青壯派市議員到黨中央前徹夜靜坐，國民黨主席吳敦 義到中央黨部門口探視，溫馨喊話，還強調他沒有一點點對不起任何人。

國民黨主席 吳敦義表示：「我沒有一點點對不起任何人，我都是竭智盡忠，現在承擔這個角色，也不是在享受，不分區立委沒有辦法做到讓每一個人都滿意。」

國民黨副總統參選人張善政接受廣播專訪時談到不分區名單，他認為整體來說無 法符合社會期待，國政顧問團的反應是高比例失望，為了避免拖累總統選情，他主張要切割。

國民黨副總統參選人 張善政表示：「大家的共識就是說，（吳敦義)排名第15最漂亮。（你們的想法是？) 對，這個是表現他的氣度，表現他的企圖心，如果說韓國瑜不能進到總統府，立法院那邊即使過半也是假的，所以我跟國政顧問團成員說，我們就總統選舉和不分區，就把它切割。」

不同於張善政的看法，韓國瑜反而顯得保守，他認為張善政是無黨籍，未必熟悉政治操作，會溝通後再向外界報告，而這份名單，將於週六中央委員會議進行同意權，傳出部分委員醞釀投不同意票，是否將會在爭議中通過，備受外界關注。
