Organization in HK Holds Strikes and Cripples Subway |堅持反送中 港人發動罷工.罷課.罷市

Some residents in Hong Kong have orchestrated strike at workplace, in schools and in local markets in an effort to force the government to retract the extradition bill, among other demands. The protestors have held congregations at seven different areas, and they've also purposefully jammed the doors of local subways, causing 8 subways lines to suspend operation.


Train passengers and protestors wearing masks engage in quarrels and confrontations since the protestors continue to prevent the subway train doors from closing. Some even lied down between the train carts and the platforms. Others shout the word "criminal organization" to the police to voice their dissatisfaction to a violent event earlier in Yuen Long where people dressed in white attacked some members of the public.

At around 10 am, eight subway train lines, including the Hong Kong Island line and the Tsuen Wan line, have been crippled and parts of the service was suspended. Meanwhile some services between stations are at 8-minute intervals. A pregnant women was riding the train when it was stopped at the Paotaishan Scenic Area, the subway staff workers put oxygen mask on her and moved her away on a wheelchair.

Many protestors dressed in black congregated outside the subway station. Some residents have orchestrated strike at workplace, in schools and local markets to force the government to retract the extradition bill, among other demands. Around 1,000 local shops have shown support for the movement. Some residents said that the public is the foundation of Hong Kong, and if the government does not respond to their demand, the public should respond with the same attitude.

If you can't hear me when my voice is low, then I'd speak louder, louder and louder. If a week-long strike isn't enough, then we'll hold two strikes. Some say the protestors resort to force and even violence, I think that's because the Hong Kong government pushes them to that point.

The organization that orchestrated the strikes across seven districts including Admiralty, Mong Kok and Wong Tai Sin is the Hong Kong Confederation of Trade Unions. They said they will cripple Hong Kong's economy in order to pressure the government.

上午10點港島、荃灣等8條路線被大規模癱瘓，有的暫停服務，有的延長成8分鐘來一班，砲台山站則有孕婦原本要搭乘地鐵前往醫院，也受到阻撓，地鐵人員趕緊讓她戴上氧氣罩、搭輪椅離開。

而在地鐵外頭也有相當多的黑衣示威者撐傘聚集，香港民間5號發起罷工、罷課、罷市運動，爭取逃犯條例修法「徹底撤回」等五大訴求，罷市已有超過1千個店家願意響應。有民眾認為，市民才是香港的根基，如果港府連市民的訴求都不回應，市民也會用同樣的態度面對港府。

香港市民表示：「我小聲你聽不到，那我就再大聲一點，大聲、大聲、再大聲，一個禮拜罷工一次不夠，那就罷工兩次囉，你說有些人是用武或暴力，其實我們都不是，因為香港政府逼他們這麼做。」

發起團體「職工盟」在七個地區，包含金鐘、旺角、黃大仙等地，遍地開花進行罷工集會，要靠癱瘓香港民生經濟持續對港府施壓。
