Google removes gaming apps without explanations / 手遊app遭下架 遊戲公司向Google抗議　　　　　　　　　　

A gaming company in Taichung has developed multiple successful and popular gaming apps in Taiwan. However, recently, over 20 apps were suddenly removed from the online store by Google Inc. without any explanations nor chances for improvements. Therefore the company has decided to file a complaint for their losses. The well-known hand puppet character Shih Yen-wen has become a virtual character in the app for smart phones and tablets. The game was developed by a company in Taichung and had attracted many fans of hand puppets to download and play. However the app was removed from Google Play by Google Incorporation. ==SHIH SHU-KAI, Game Company Deputy Manager== The way how Google Inc. handled was sending a reminder to the app developer. At this moment, we are confused about the reason why so? Where went wrong? All the apps listed under our company had been removed at the same time. All were removed from Google Play. The game company said that Google Inc. only sent them a simple email saying this app had violated development policy and agreement. The Google Inc. did not offer a second chance for the company to inquire nor update. The Legal Affairs Bureau of Taichung City Government made a suggestion of enforcing a mutual communication institution and protecting rights of both parties. ==CHANG PEN-SUNG, Taichung City Legal Affairs Bureau Deputy Director== The supervisory authority for on-line games may belong to the jurisdiction of the central government. It seems only the Industrial Development Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs is doing the supervision. The controversy lies at the point of civil issues. It should be handled by civil procedure. According to the app company, there are approximately 2 million players had downloaded their apps. Although players can play with the existing versions, but new players are not able to download. This has caused a great loss to the app company. The app company will continue to protest to the Google Inc.
