Holiday bonuses no longer for every retired civil servant / 退休公教人員三節慰問金 明年將被縮減　　　　　　　　　　

On September 8, Premier Lin Chuan announced that staring from 2017, only retired civil servants and public school teachers receiving a monthly pension of NT$25,000 or less will be given pension bonuses on the Chinese New Year, the Dragon Boat Festival and the Mid-Autumn Festival. It is estimated that around 156,000 people will be affected by the new policy. The pension reform committee also held its 12 meeting yesterday, acting chairman LIN WAN-I said that a revised draft will be sent to the Legislative Yuan in February or March next year. The Directorate-General of Personnel Administration of the Executive Yuan is already dealing with the issue. It is estimated that around 156,000 people will be affected by the new policy. The government will be able to save NT$ 870 million per year. The pension reform committee held its 12th meeting on September 8, which was also the first meeting held after The National Federation of Teachers Union withdrew from the committee. ==LIN WAN-I, Vice Chairperson of the Pension Reform Committee== We regret to learn that the NFTU left the committee. In today's meeting, we will begin to talk about practical issues of the pension reform. The discussion will affected interests of different groups. Lin served as the acting chairman of the meeting. The main purpose of the meeting was to decide the discussion order of the 7 major pension reform issues.
