MISSILE INCIDENT KILLS CAPTAIN, INJURES 3|雄三飛彈貫穿漁船 翔利昇號1死3傷

The Kaohiung-registered fishing boat Hsiang Li Sheng was hit by a missile accidentally fired by a naval patrol vessel. This resulted in the death of the fishing boat captain and left three crew injured. The Tainan Coast Guard took the injured back to port in Kaohsiung. The boat underwent forensic examination by investigators from the Kaohsiung District Prosecutor's Office. Vice Premier Lin Hsi-yao made an apology to the families of the victims and said that after investigation was made, full responsibility would be taken. Anxiously watching as the boat was towed into the port, family members were grief stricken. The vessel went out to fish the day before. My Dad died, they told me The damaged vessel, Kaohsiung-registered Hsiang Li Sheng was towed back to port by another fishing vessel from waters south of Penghu's Dongji Island where it had been fishing. The vessel's cabin had an obvious hole in it and the stern of the vessel was seriously damaged. The ROC Navy has sent patrol vessels and helicopters to search the area for debris from the missile.
