China's A4 Revolution May Affect Taiwan Stock?
Recently, the A4 Revolution in China led to ups and downs in stock markets worldwide. Whether it may impact Taiwan requires further observation.
As inflation is painfully felt by all, the Directorate General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics downward adjusted the annual Gross Domestic Product to merely 3 percent and noted that the GDP for this year and next may not likely surpass that of Japan and Korea.
Chu Tzer-ming, Minister of Directorate General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics: “If inflation is a current market trend, we have to respect it. Forcefully suppressing it will interfere with the allocation of resources. Nevertheless, there should not be any illegal conduct such as monopolizing or hoarding. With respect to such a phenomenon, administrative departments should handle it accordingly.”
The market this week focused on Fed Chairman Powell's anticipated speech. TAIEX opened with a small dip of 31 points where financial and shipping stock stayed low while funds flowed to medium and small cap. Automobile, tourism, and traditional industry stock rose, with the intraday index recovering to over 14,700 points. With respect to whether the National Financial Stabilization Fund has a clear exit timing, the Ministry of Finance believes that there are still many uncertain factors.
Juan Ching-hwa, Political Deputy Minister, Ministry of Finance: “Currently Taiwan Stock is relatively stable but there are still many uncertainties in the future, a lot, a lot. So, we will have to wait till a resolution is passed by the NFSF management committee before we can handle it according to the resolution.”
The A4 Revolution in China also resulted in major ups and downs in stock markets worldwide. Whether it will impact Taiwan requires further observation.
Juan Ching-hwa, Political Deputy Minister, Ministry of Finance: “The most important thing is whether this affects the entire supply chain. We will need to follow up closely regarding this part.”
However, will the NFSF hold an emergency meeting to exit suddenly? Political Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Finance Juan Ching-hwa emphasized that there are no such plans currently. As for whether the NFSF may exit before or after Chinese New Year, he held something back and said that it is still hard to assess next year's situation.
