Nearly 6,000 People Confirmed With COVID-19 on Nov. 6
The home isolation requirement for contacts of confirmed cases will be discontinued starting Nov. 7. However, about 6000 people were diagnosed on the 6th through the video telemedicine service but they were not reported as confirmed cases until the 11th. Therefore, those who came in contact with these people will receive a separate notice from the CECC.
Starting Nov. 7, the home isolation requirement for contacts of confirmed cases will be discontinued, and "0+7 days of self-initiated prevention" will be implemented instead. The Central Epidemic Command Center discovered nearly 6,000 people received positive diagnoses through video telemedicine service on the 6th but these cases were not confirmed and reported until the next day. Thus, a special program will be initiated. Text messages were sent to these 6,000 patients in the morning asking them to fill out relevant information.
Chuang Jen-hsiang, Spokesperson, CECC: “Their family members probably chose the 3+4 home isolation program. So we will send another text message before 11 a.m. today to these confirmed cases. ”
The CECC said that it will no longer send Home Quarantine Notices to those who came into contact with confirmed cases. If people need them for medical leave or insurance purposes, they can use the "Digital New Coronavirus Health Certification System" or the Health Passbook App to apply for "Contact Quarantine Certification." Mask regulations will be loosened as soon as this month, as wearing masks outdoors will not be required. Starting next month, table-to-table toasting will be allowed at wedding banquets. Some doctors suggest that if there are elders and children in the family, they should reduce participation in these big parties.
Chiang Kuan-yu, Doctor, Taipei City Hospital: “You might want to think about going to these large parties or doing toasts if you have vulnerable elders or children under the age of 6 at home. ”
The doctor emphasized that although emerging mutants have appeared recently, fortunately, most of the patients have mild symptoms. Taiwan's natural infection rate and the vaccination rate of 3 shots have reached 74 percent. There is a certain group immunity, but it is recommended that people wash their hands frequently and maintain good hygiene. Hygienic habits can help reduce the risk of transmission.
