Man's Account Emptied After Applying for Gov't Relief 台南確診男依簡訊申請補助 反遭盜領存款

A Tainan resident said he received a text message, saying his relief loan application had been approved. He followed the instructions after tapping on the link, only to find out later that his bank account had been emptied.

This is a scam website targeting people who are applying for government relief. A Tainan man applying for COVID-19 relief was tricked into entering his bank account number on the website and his account was subsequently emptied.

Lin Po-han, Chief, Longtan Police Station: “(The message said) his application had been approved and asked him to tap on a link. He was then asked to fill in his personal information and then asked to follow recorded directions. He inadvertently changed his online banking passcode and linked his EasyCard account to his bank account. All his money was withdrawn.”

The real Executive Yuan relief website has an Executive Yuan logo on it and looks very different from the scam website. The Tainan City Labor Affairs Bureau says neither the central nor local governments contact relief applicants via SMS or links. Therefore, anyone receiving such SMS messages should confirm with the authorities.

Citizen: “I wouldn't just tap on a link. I'd be suspicious. However, some people don't know about scams and might just tap in.”

Police say all relief and loan applications should be filed through official channels and any text messages and links from unclear sources should be ignored.

點入紓困簡訊網址，裡面的申請說明以假亂真，上頭還有「立即領取疫情補貼」，一按進去還必須要有帳號密碼。台南有名男子確診後，以網路申請補助，誤信詐騙網站，沒有領到補貼，存款反而先被盜領。

永康分局龍潭派出所長林伯翰表示：「確診的補助已經審核通過，並附有紓困4.0的網站連結，民眾信以為真，點擊網址後依指示填寫個人資料，再依語音客服進行操作，發現網路銀行遭到竄改密碼，並連結悠遊付的帳戶，錢包內的款項遭全數轉出。」

實際登入紓困4.0網站，上頭還有行政院的logo，內容符合資格申請資格分類明確，明顯與詐騙網站不同，台南市勞工局提醒，不管中央或是地方的官方紓困申請網站，都不會以簡訊以及網址連結傳給民眾來領紓困金，呼籲有任何疑問，可以先做求證的動作。

有民眾表示：「我覺得點進去，我自己的話是會有疑慮，但是沒有概念的人，就有可能會不小心點到。」

台南市勞工局就促科長沈淑敏表示：「行政院有一支專線，紓困專線1988，民眾可以先打電話去做確認。」

警方呼籲，疫情之下民眾生活遇到困難，申請紓困難免，不過申請前還是務必多注意，如有向政府貸款、補貼相關需求請撥打專線詢問或是上官網申請，誤信來路不名的簡訊、網站，以免得不償失。
