Taiwan condemns violence following the shooting of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. Taiwan's representative to Japan, Frank Hsieh said he had contacted Mr. Abe's family after the shooting.
President Tsai Ing-wen said she was "shocked and saddened" by the incident, calling Mr. Abe a good friend and a staunch supporter of Taiwan. Meanwhile, senior officials including Premier Su Tseng-chang, and Foreign Affairs Minister Joseph Wu have also expressed their concern. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says it is closely monitoring the latest developments of the incident.
