One of the confirmed cases previously frequented a Taoyuan entertainment hall that had hosted a large-scale New Year's Eve event attended by 800 people. The Taoyuan City Government has compiled a membership list and testing is scheduled to be completed by Jan. 6.

It has been reported that Case No. 17239, who is part of the Taoyuan International Airport cluster infection, went to the hall every day between Dec. 29 and Jan. 2. The city's Department of Public Health set up a testing station outside the venue on Jan. 6 to offer free tests to anyone who went to the hall on those days as well as nearby residents.
Resident: “(Did you just get tested?) Yes. (When were you notified that you should get tested?) Last night. (What time last night?) About 8 p.m.”
Resident: “(Have you been feeling worried these past two days?) Of course, that's logical. I'm even avoiding my family members, and my friends as well. I don't want to affect anyone else.”
The city government says its preliminary investigation shows Case No. 17239 went to the entertainment hall to work and to play mahjong, and didn't attend the New Year's Eve event. It notified the 800 or so attendees of that event to get tested for their safety. It has also compiled a list of the hall's members for testing.
Chan He-shun, Director, Taoyuan City Dept. of Public Information: “(How many people was she in close contact with?) Our preliminary investigation shows she was in close contact with 15 people. These 15 people have all been tested. ”
Three new cases have been added to the Taoyuan International Airport cluster infection, bringing the total to eight so far. An elementary school in Taoyuan's Guanyin District closed for one day as a precautionary measure because a student lives with one of the confirmed cases.
Wang Pi-sheng, Commander, Taoyuan Int'l Airport Advance Command Post: “The situation is very clear. The number of infections is higher at the cleaning company, so I think their inspections need to become more intensive and frequent.”
The cleaning company tested 887 employees, and seven tested positive. All are night shift workers. Other relevant personnel have also been tested. The government also sent 91 cleaners to two centralized quarantine facilities for isolation to protect other night shift workers.

採檢民眾說，是前一天晚上大約8點多的時候收到採檢通知。
也有民眾表示：「我連家人都不接觸，自己一個人，連朋友那邊我都不去了，就怕影響到別人。」
市府表示，初步疫調結果案17239是去金嗓打工和打麻將，跨年並沒有參加餐會，為了安全起見也通知參加活動民眾採檢，人數有800多人，已經進行會員造冊，預計下午採檢完畢。
桃市府新聞處長詹賀舜指出：「我們初步疫調，她近距離接觸的有15人，這15人已經都匡列採檢。」
桃機群聚感染事件持續擴大，確診人數新增3人，目前累計感染人數達到8人。桃園觀音區有一間國小，因為學生同住家人是確診者，全校預防性停課一天。
桃機前進指揮所指揮官王必勝說明：「很清楚可以看到它的事件，確診比較多的是在清潔公司的這個部分，所以我想他們的檢驗可能要比較密集，比較頻繁一點。」
最後一批擴大採檢結果出來，清潔公司員工採檢887人有7人確診，都是大夜班員工。除了基本疫調和相關人員匡列採檢，為確了保大夜班人員防疫安全，91位員工全數分送兩個集中檢疫所居家隔離。
