Two More Employees from Chunghwa Post Tested Positive 中華郵政累計5人確診或快篩陽性個案

It is advised that people should avoid visiting post offices unless absolutely necessary as two more Chunghwa Post employees tested positive through rapid testing, bringing the total number to five.

Taiwan's national postal service Chunghwa Post confirmed that two more employees have tested positive through rapid testing.

We are still operating normally, and we had both post offices that are affected disinfected again yesterday.

The first confirmed COVID-19 case from Chunghwa Post was someone from Chunghwa Postal Workers' Union and the second was an employee from the Taipei Mail Processing Center. Both had been to Wanhua District within the last couple days. The third staff was a Taipei Post Office mail truck driver that tested positive and is still waiting for the PCR test result. Latest news comes as three more positive cases are found with a pair being mother and daughter. The mother is a half-day postal worker around 60 years old, responsible for mail in Xinyi District area and the daughter is a mail carrier in the Zhongshan District, who has a higher chance of coming into contact with people. Both are currently self-quarantined at home. The fifth staff works at the Jinnan Branch office and is also waiting for PCR test result to be produced.

Colleagues found through conversation that this colleague who has tested positive has been to Wanhua previously. Although still waiting for PCR test result, we given three staff members who have been in closer contact with the suspected case time off work to do rapid testing.

Chunghwa Postal Workers' Union also shared their concern over having to continue with postal services despite the rise of suspected and confirmed COVID-19 cases. The demand for postal service remains high, but the risk is now also high with having to deliver mail and packages into hospitals such as National Taiwan University Hospital (NTUH).

There's a lot of mail still. My son had to make a delivery to NTUH yesterday and the hospital required him to go inside instead of them coming out to get their mail. So there's nothing much we can do besides being extra careful by wearing goggles and masks, which are provided by the post offices.

Taipei Post Office said that all branch offices that have employees tested positive or diagnosed with COVID-19 have been disinfected and sanitized. Employees who have been in contact with the cases are required to work from home and self-monitor their health. Mail carriers are provided with medical masks, face shields, alcohol spray and etc. Authorities are calling out to the public to not visit post offices in the high-risk areas lately.

中華郵政疑似確診人數，持續增加中，台北郵局證實，新增兩名員工，快篩陽性個案。

臺北郵局副局長江慶星表示：「我們還是正常營業，昨天，等於說，他有兩個營業場地，都重新再消毒。」

中華郵政首例確診者，是名工會幹部，第二例台北郵件處理中心員工，都曾有萬華接觸史。至於台北郵局快捷收發股外勤，大卡車司機，日前快篩陽性，還在等核酸檢驗結果。另外，新增快篩陽性個案，是信義投遞股，半日制員工，60多歲女性，同住女兒，是中山投遞股外勤人員，平時業務是送信，與民眾接觸機會大，兩居家隔離中，目前採檢中。而另一名快篩陽性，是台北金南郵局員工，正等待二篩結果，疑似曾有萬華移動軌跡。

臺北郵局副局長江慶星表示：「在那個閒聊的時候，被同仁發現有去萬華，因為他是快篩陽性，（核酸檢測)PCR還沒有出來，跟他接觸比較密切的三位員工，我們都給他排休假，去做快篩。」

中華郵政工會顧問表示，確診、快篩陽性案例持續增加中，但郵政業務量不減，尤其寄件，高風險地區，像是醫院郵件包裹，尤其台大，得推車進入內部，染疫風險相當高。

中華郵政工會顧問鄭光明表示：「信很多，我兒子，昨天他還送台大(醫院)，而且台大還不能叫他們出來拿，推車子進去。問題現在就只有加強管理，他們現在送進去有戴護目鏡，口罩會多發。」

台北郵局表示，目前確診郵政單位已加強消毒，也要求接觸員工在家自主健康管理，另外，外勤人員，也會發送防疫面罩、口罩，酒精等，並呼籲民眾，非必要郵務，暫時不要前往染疫風險高的郵政單位。
