After three wedding guests in Changhua County tested positive for COVID-19, the Changhua County Government contact-traced 1,300 people for health management in the hopes of keeping community spread in check. In addition, Chang Tai Junior High School has suspended classes after two students tested positive. Over in Taichung, Chongqing Elementary School has likewise suspended classes after another student tested positive on May 16.

We have both full-time and part-time employees, and they are all assigned to specific areas of the hotel. So, our employees are not running around between different floors.
The hotel says it is monitoring the health of employees and no one is experiencing symptoms. The Changhua County Public Health Bureau says one member of the so-called "Grape Family" cluster infection attended the wedding banquet on May 8 and the three new cases all sat at the same table as her. As these wedding guests came into contact with too many people to count, the county decided to test hotel employees.
We hope large-scale testing of employees can contain further spread.
In addition, Changhua's Chang Tai Junior High School has been shut down after two students tested positive for COVID-19. The county government is disinfecting the campus. Over in Taichung, Chongqing Elementary School has also been shut down through the end of the month after a student tested positive for COVID-19.
We were notified of the new case at 10:30 pm (on May 16). Chongqing Elementary School will be closed from (May 17) until May 31. Students will attend classes virtually for now.
On May 17, the Taichung City Environmental Protection Bureau disinfected the campus and other locations the student may have visited. The city government says the earlier COVID-19 case in Dali Borough had no contact with Dongshan Senior High School students and while there is no need to panic, everyone should follow the government's disease prevention policies.
飯店員工仔細消毒宴客用的桌椅，彰化縣花壇鄉的全國麗園大飯店，傳出確診個案，5月8號中午，有三名參加喜宴的民眾，被驗出確診新冠肺炎，彰化縣府緊急匡列1300名接觸者，部立彰化醫院17號上午也派出採檢車前往麗園大飯店，對員工進行採檢。
全國麗園大飯店員工表示：「擔心是會，但還好，因為我們全程都有戴口罩，而且公司是定期早、晚都有在消毒，所以基本上，我們擔心是不高。」
全國麗園大飯店特助表示：「我們的工作人員的話，基本上，有分正職跟PT。我們的工作人員都是固定，就是他分配在哪一個廳，就是不會再到其他的樓層，去串跑。」
飯店業者表示，目前追蹤員工狀況，還未有身體不適的狀況；彰化縣衛生局表示，因為葡萄家族案中，一名確診成員5月8號中午曾到麗園大飯店參加喜宴，同一桌10人當中有3人確診，接觸者太多，所以才會進行緊急篩檢動員令。
彰化縣衛生局長 葉彥伯表示：「我們希望經過這樣一個大規模，而民眾來配合的，這個快速篩檢的一個動員令，我們能夠迅速的圍堵這個疫情。」
彰化另外新增兩名確診者，是彰泰國中的學生，縣府除緊急進行環境清消，也宣布彰泰國中即日起停課。台中市16號深夜也有一名重慶國小學生確診，台中市府也宣布全校停課至5月31號。
台中市長 盧秀燕表示：「我們是在昨天晚上10點半接獲通知，這名女童確診。今天開始重慶國小停課，一直到5月31號，這段時間是採取線上教學。」
台中市環保局17號一早立即到重慶國小還有相關足跡進行大消毒，台中市府也澄清，之前的大里區確診者並未與東山高中學生有接觸，呼籲民眾不用過度緊張，但仍要配合政府防疫政策。
