TTL to Join "Pineapple National Team" 挺國產鳳梨 台酒宣布加入"鳳梨國家隊"

Taiwan Tobacco and Liquor Corporation said it has joined the "Pineapple National Team" and decided to make more pineapple beers and fruit liquors. However, the pineapple cans produced by the state-owned enterprise, Taiwan sugar, were labelled "Made in Thailand "instead of made in Taiwan.

In Tainan, we will work with farmers producing Guan Miao pineapples. As for Pingtung, we will work with the local County Government. We hope to cooperate with local wineries and local farmers to help them to sell the pineapples.
TTL said the processing technology of fruits is in a mature stage. The company is already producing pineapple beers and all types of fruit liquors. On top of that, TTL is joining the "Pineapple National Team" and will place sizable orders on Taiwanese pineapples to produce additional new products such as pineapple fruit liquor, pineapple wine and pineapple juice, among others. New products will be launched next month at the soonest.
While the government is putting together a national team to stabilize the price of pineapples, the Yunlin County Government found out that the pineapple cans produced by the state-owned enterprise, Taiwan sugar, were labelled "Made in Thailand "instead of made in Taiwan.
I was baffled by this at first, but as I dig deeper into the industry, I found out that a lot of higher-end processing technology such as making pineapple enzymes were moved to other countries instead. I think as a state-owned enterprise, Taiwan Sugar should think hard about it.
Taiwan Sugar did produce pineapple cans in Taiwan in its early days. As the economy took off in Taiwan and the fruit quality improved, the Enterprise closed down its factories and asked the OEM factories in Thailand to produce the canned goods instead. It's not easy to just shut down the factories there right at this instant.
Taiwan Sugar, in response, said it will support Taiwanese pineapples as much as possible, including using the locally-produced fruit in processed foods such as dried fruits and iced products, among others. It will also add a "Taiwan Pineapple Zone" at all sales channels of the company to support the local crop.

台灣菸酒公司董事長 丁彥哲表示：「台南，我們可能優先就是，跟關廟的鳳梨來做合作。屏東，我們就會跟屏東縣政府來做合作。所以我們是希望說，以在地的酒廠，跟在地的農民來合作，幫他們協助去化一些鳳梨的一個生產量。」
台酒表示，對於水果的加工技術非常成熟，現在已有生產鳯梨啤酒，同時也製作各式的水果酒，為響應加入鳳梨國家隊，將大量採購台灣鳳梨，製成鳳梨啤酒、鳳梨水果酒、鳳梨酒、鳳梨果汁等，最快下個月就有新產品問市。就在政府組農產品國家隊穩定鳳梨均價的同時，雲林縣政府計畫處長李明岳卻在超市發現，國營企業台糖所賣的鳳梨罐頭產地標示竟然是泰國而非台灣。
雲林縣政府計畫處長 李明岳表示：「剛開始是傻眼，但是後來真正去了解，這個產業的邏輯，很多鳳梨的酵素，或一些鳳梨高質化的一些產業的投入。我覺得是台糖，身為一個國營事業，現在應該好好去思考。」
台糖秘書處長 蕭光宏表示：「台糖公司生產鳳梨，早期是在台灣生產沒有錯，但是後來又隨著台灣整個經濟成長之後，台灣的水果改良，也越來越精進。把台灣的工廠結束完之後，到泰國找OEM(代工)，現在如果說要結束的話，恐怕也不是一時間容易。」
台糖強調，將用最大能量支持台灣鳳梨，具體做法包括將台灣鳳梨用於台糖產製之加工食品，如果乾、鳳梨冰品等，並在台糖相關通路增設台灣鳳梨專區等，讓更多國人能一起挺台灣鳳梨。
