WHA Cuts Off Pro-Taiwan Video by Palau|帛琉預錄影片邀台參與WHA 被裁示停播

ROC allies voiced support for Chinese Taipei participation on the second day of the World Health Assembly virtual conference. However, their remarks or prerecorded videos were cut off by the chair of the meeting, who ask the countries to follow the agenda and refrain from discussing sensitive topics. Premier Su Tseng-chang says this will only make more countries support Taiwan.

I hope Taiwan's contributions can be appreciated and shared by everyone. I hope Taiwan can ultimately be invited to be an observer.

In a prerecorded video, Palau praises Taiwan's epidemic prevention efforts and says Taiwan should be granted observer status in the World Health Assembly.

This decision complies with Rule 53 of the World Health Assembly's Rules of Procedure and we are therefore calling Palau to order.

The video is cut off with the consent of the chair of the meeting. On the second day of the WHA's videoconference, several of the ROC's diplomatic allies including Belize and Eswatini called for Chinese Taipei to be granted observer status. Belize discussed Taiwan's low COVID-19 infection and death rates and success in stopping community spread, while Eswatini said the World Health Organization continues to bar Taiwan's participation despite being an international health coordination platform. Both were cut off by the chair of the meeting. Premier Su Tseng-chang says this will only make more countries side with Taiwan.

It is extremely wrong they weren't allowed to speak. This will make more countries and friends of Taiwan want to help Taiwan's voice be heard.

The Marshall Islands, another ROC ally, praised Taiwan during a 2-on-2 debate session for its contributions during the years when it had observer status.

...a reminder to all of us that only by including Taiwan, it will be possible to finally realize the partnership.

The Marshall Islands also blasted the WHO for prioritizing politics over global health, saying the WHO has severely damaged its own reputation and Taiwan must be allowed to join the WHA.
