Fire Breaks Out at Pingtung Fishing Port|瞬間爆炸聲 屏東鹽埔漁港連環火燒船

Five deep sea fishing vessels and two rubber rafts sustained damage during a fire at Yanpu Fishing Port in Pingtung on June 15. The fire was brought under control at around 6:30 p.m., and no one was injured. The damages are estimated at over NT$100 million.

The sound of an explosion was heard, and a Coast Guard Administration personnel's glasses were blown off. On the afternoon of June 15, a fishing vessel at Yanpu Fishing Port in Pingtung's Xinyuan Township suddenly caught on fire. At that time, there were strong winds, and the fire quickly spread to nearby vessels, provoking a chain reaction.

The fire engulfed the vessels and thick black smoke filled the air. The smoke could even be seen in Kaohsiung City. Firefighters and Coast Guard personnel launched a rescue, while excavators helped to excavate hulls. The situation was brought under control by 6:30 p.m.

The fire damaged five deep-sea fishing vessels, two CT5-type fishing vessels and three CT4-type fishing vessels, as well as two rubber rafts. The damages are estimated to be over NT$100 million. Luckily, no one was injured during the incident. Once the fire has been completely extinguished, the Pingtung County Government will begin working to prevent oil spills and clear away the remains of the vessels. The Pingtung County Fire Bureau is currently trying to determine the cause of the fire.

瞬間的爆炸聲震耳欲聾，連海巡人員的眼鏡都直接被彈飛，屏東新園鄉的鹽埔漁港，15號下午一艘漁船突然竄出火光，加上風勢強勁，隨即延燒到一旁緊鄰的船隻，造成連環火燒船的景象。

大火吞噬船隻，濃密的黑煙不斷竄出直衝天際，連高雄市都能看到，消防及海巡人員同步搶救，加上怪手開挖船身，終於在傍晚六點半左右控制火勢。

海巡署人員表示：「目前同仁先協助漁民，將停泊區的船舶，慢慢移泊過來這裡，比較沒有火勢的地方。」

這場大火造成兩艘CT5噸級跟3艘CT4噸級，一共五艘遠洋漁船受損，還有兩艘膠筏被燒毀，初估損失上億元，所幸並未傳出人員傷亡。屏東縣府待火勢完全撲滅，也將處理後續防止油料汙染及漁船打撈清除作業，而起火原因，屏東消防局還在鑑定中。
