No Further Development on Murder Cases Involving HK Suspect|曾表態來台投案 陳同佳案迄今無下文

Hong Kong murder suspect Chan Tong-kai, who's currently wanted by Taiwanese police, said earlier that he would turn himself in when he was released by Hong Kong prison at the end of October. However, the case did not see further development in the last two months. Taiwan's Ministry of the Interior said that a platform was specifically set up to deal with this case but has not receive any contact by him.


Chan Tong-kai has yet to contact the platform that we set up to deal with his case. I don't think it's necessary to keep talking about the case with the media, concrete actions are more important.

Chan has been on Taiwanese authorities' wanted list since last year. The Ministry of the Interior said that if Chan was to come to Taiwan, police officials will to go to Hong Kong and escort him here. However, the ministry said, neither Chan nor the Hong Kong authority has made any contact. Some scholars said that both Hong Kong and Taiwan have their political agendas and the case won't see clear progress before Taiwan's upcoming presidential election next January. On the other hand, a Hong Kong media outlet said Chan Tong-kai still wants to turn himself in to Taiwan, and that he will announce the date once it's decided.

去年士林地檢署就對陳同佳發出通緝，內政部指出，如果陳同佳要來台灣，會有我方的警察前往香港，戒護陳同佳入境，但陳同佳和港方都沒有和台灣成立的窗口聯繫。有學者指出，這一來一往港台雙方都有政治考量，恐怕在台灣大選之前，此案不會有所進展。但港媒報導，陳同佳的牧師管浩鳴有強調，陳同佳並沒有改變來台投案的意願，一旦決定時間，就會對外公布。
