Ko Does Not Comment on Itinerary of Trip To Shanghai, China|雙城論壇會見劉結一? 柯文哲仍不鬆口

Taipei City Mayor Ko Wen-je will lead a delegation to Shanghai for the annual Taipei-Shanghai City Forum. When asked about whether he will meet with the director of the Taiwan Affairs Office Liu Jieyi, Ko refused to confirm nor respond directly to this matter.


Taipei City Mayor Ko Wen-je is scheduled to travel to Shanghai China to attend the Shanghai-Taipei Twin City Forum. His team did not disclose the details of his itinerary or the representatives of Taiwanese companies who will be traveling with him, drawing critique from some city councilors. Asked about whether he will meet with Liu Jieyi, the Director of Taiwan Affairs Office in China, Ko did not comment. He said that it won't make things better even he meets Liu, and that he will just play it by ear.

(If you meet with Liu Jieyi, will it help with the cross-strait situation or make it worse?) The right answer is that it won't help. In the internet age, it's hard for me to tell who the most important person is. All I need to do is to maintain the principle of equality and dignity, and just play it by ear with everything else.

Ko's scheduled visit comes right after the latest development of the protest in Hong Kong, in which protestors forced their way into the Legislative Council, a move that some call the sunflower movement in Hong Kong. Ko hints at sharing Taiwan's democratic values with China.

Taiwan could share some of its experience in the development of its politics with China. I hope that when China looks at Taiwan, it could take this into consideration. Of course we're not perfect, but I do think that we've done a lot of things right. (Will you say this when you meet with Liu Jieyi?)

Ko is about to set foot on Chinese soil, and all eyes are on him and what he would talk about with Chinese officials.



台北市長柯文哲3號將赴中參加雙城論壇，但行程和隨團企業名單，被市議員批評搞神秘，尤其是否和國台辦主任劉結一見面，柯文哲不鬆口，但坦言見了也不會加分，到時見招拆招。

台北市長 柯文哲表示：「（到時候你和劉結一見面，是加分還扣分？) 正確講法是不會加分啦，在這種網路時代，見誰，到底誰才是重要的人？我看都很難講，反正對等尊嚴的原則把握住，剩下就輕輕鬆鬆，該怎麼做？見招拆招。」

至於香港立法會1號被反送中示威者佔領，號稱香港太陽花，即將赴中的柯文哲，似乎也提前向對岸喊話，強調台灣民主發展能給中國參考。

台北市長 柯文哲表示：「台灣在政治上的發展過程當中，其實可以給中國大陸很好的參考，我想這是大陸在觀察台灣的時候，要去思考，當然我們不是一百分，但是我們還是有很多成功的故事，可以做為借鏡。（所以你見劉結一的話，會講這段話嗎？）
　
柯文哲屆時踏上中國土地，是否也會當面向中國官員建議，將更引起關注。
