Formosa-7 Connects with Australian Terminal|福衛七號與澳洲達爾文海外站 首次通聯

Formosat-7, the latest satellite co-developed by Taiwan and the United States, successfully launched yesterday afternoon Taiwan time. The satellite connected with a signal reception station in Australian ay around 5:15 pm yesterday. Three hours later, all of its six micro-satelliteshave successfully connected with signal sations marking the success of the launch mission.


On June 25, 8:48 pm Taiwan time, six hours after the launch, Formosat-7, the latest satellite co-developed by Taiwan and the United States have connected with a signal station in Taiwan.

Beginning at 8:48 pm, the first satellite made its connection with the terminal located in Taiwan. By now, all six terminals have successfully connected (with terminals on the ground).

The Formosat-7 satellite system took off on Tuesday at 2:30 pm, it began to connect with a signal reception station in Australia at 5:15pm. During its first orbit, only satellite No.2 and 3 successfully connected. Satellite No.4, 5, and 6 connected during the second orbit. Finally, at 8:48pm, all six microsatellites have successfully connected with signal stations. At a subsequent press conference that marks the successful launch, Premier Su Tseng-Chang and the Minister of Science and Technology Chen Liang-Gee expressed gratitude for the team behind the development of the satellite and together congratulated Taiwan for the achievement.

This isn't just a big step forward for Taiwan's technology industry, it also shows the world the progress of Taiwan's aerospace industry.

The launch of Formosat-7 is a success. The satellite will pass over Taiwan six times a day. The following tasks include monitoring the operating condition of the microsatellites as well as managing their trajectory. The satellite is set to take over Formosat-3 in receiving the climate data of areas in mid-and-lower latitude and it will help increase the accuracy of the weather forecast.



福爾摩沙衛星七號在發射6個多小時後，台灣時間25號晚間8點48分，台灣和美國佛州兩地都證實好消息：台灣收到訊號了！

福衛七號計畫主持人 朱崇惠表示：「在8點48分，第一顆衛星跟台灣地面站完成通聯，那在這裡六顆衛星，都跟台灣完成通聯。」

心中大石頭總算放下，因為福衛七號從台灣時間25號下午兩點半發射升空，在5點15分左右，開始和澳洲達爾文的海外接收站連線，第一次繞行時，只聯繫上第2顆和第3顆衛星；第2次經過達爾文站，則聯繫上第4、5、6顆衛星。直到晚間8點48分，才確定全數六顆都聯繫上。當天發射任務圓滿成功，記者會上，科技部長陳良基和行政院蘇貞昌，都對團隊表示感謝，並恭喜台灣。

行政院長 蘇貞昌表示：「不只是台灣的科技實力，向前進了一大步，也讓全世界看到，台灣航太產業的進步。」

科技部長 陳良基表示：「福衛七號從遙遠的太空，把訊號送過來，這超棒的，對吧！」

福衛七號，正式宣布發射成功，每天將通過台灣六次，接下來，還得花時間監控每顆衛星的運作狀況，並依序布軌。未來將接替福衛三號，接收中低緯度氣象資料，可望提升氣象預報的精準度。
