BABY CLOTHES FOR RENT IN DENMARK|丹麥出租嬰兒服 省錢又環保

發布時間: 更新時間:
Parents must know how quickly babies can outgrow their clothes, and the closet can get overwhelmed with clothes that would be either donated or given away, or ended up in trash. That's why an environmentally conscious Danish entrepreneur has created a business in which she rents out baby clothes to parents. Parents Emil and Malene Reventlow take sustainability seriously. When it came to clothing their two young daughters, two year-old Edith and six month-old Barbara, they opted for an environmentally friendly option, rather than traditional purchases in stores. ==MALENE REVENTLOW mother, customer of Vigga== I think sustainability is important. In general. So this is just one point where you can actually do something easily. The Copenhagen residents subscribe to Vigga, a baby clothing rental service that hires its garments, rather than sells them. That means when Edith and Barbara outgrow these current clothes, they'll be returned and replaced with larger ones. Since launched in 2014, Vigga has had around 3,000 subscribers in Denmark. ==VIGGA SVENSSON Co-Founder and CEO of Vigga== Just a small piece of baby clothing takes more than 3,000 liters of water, just to mention one of the resources. And when you use it, two, three, four, five times, and then put it away, it's not very clever. Vigga Svensson and her husband Peter previously ran another kids' wear brand, but they realized selling cannot solve the problem of waste. That's why they started an online subscription service, designed for the circular economy. Customers choose bundle sizes depending on their needs. A monthly fee for a small package with eight pieces is about US$46, a large package with 24 pieces is US$69. ==VIGGA SVENSSON Co-Founder and CEO of Vigga== So, here we have one of the sizes, it's for the newborn babies. And this is clothing that has been circulating two, two and a half years until now, and maybe been dressing 15, 20 babies. And as you can see it is still perfect and looks perfectly new. The brand said it has circulated over 100,000 pieces of clothing over the past two years. It also offers a similar maternity wear service. The subscription service also includes insurance for damaged or lost clothing. Once the clothes are returned, they're checked, cleaned, processed and repackaged for the next child. For parents like Emil and Malene, the option means less time spent clothes shopping and more time spent playing with their children. TRANSLATED BY:SASHA CHIU
