TAIPEI CITY MAYOR MEETS WITH TAIWAN AFFAIRS OFFICE MINISTER|柯文哲上海行 與國台辦主任張志軍會面

Taipei mayor Ko Wen-je's three-day trip to Shanghai concluded yesterday with a meeting with China's Taiwan Affairs Office director Zhang Zhijun. The two met and shook hands in front of the Hong Qiao State Hotel. However, the content of their subsequent discussions were not made available to the public. Since communication is easy, there should be more exchanges to see what benefits the people on each side. We will keep working on this. A closed-door discussion followed the brief remarks. When asked why the meeting was only announced at the last minute, Ko said that it was the host's arrangement, but stressed that city-to-city engagement was still the focus of this trip.
