KMT FILES FOR COURT ORDER TO REVOKE CIPAS' DECISION OVER IVESTMENT COMPANIES|中投.新裕台恐歸國有 國黨聲請停止執行

The KMT previously filed for a court order to revoke a decision made by the Ill-gotten Party Asset Committee, or CIPAS, where all shares of two KMT-owned companies had to be handed over to the government. Yesterday, the second court proceeding for the case took place at the Taipei High Administrative Court. The KMT urged the court to complete its ruling within a month. Meanwhile, the CIPAS stressed that it will continue to work towards the reclamation of KMT's ill-gotten assets. The Committee of Ill-gotten Party Assets Settlement, or CIPAS has ruled that the KMT-owned Central Investment Co and Hsinyutai Co should be turned over to the government. The Taipei High Administrative Court was in session for the second time, and the KMT said that litigation is their last avenue. They asked for a fair trial and hoped the court ruling can be announced within a month. ==HU WEN-CHI, KMT spokesperson== The DPP now controls the executive, legislative, and judicial branches. We are powerless. Litigation is our only recourse. However, the CIPAS stressed that according to the Administrative Litigation Act, shares of the Central Investment Co and Hsinyutai Co should be handed over to the state. The process will not be interrupted by the KMT's filing for administrative litigation. ==SHIH CHIN-FANG, CIPAS spokesperson== It does matter how the KMT tries hinder our decision. All of us at CIPAs will continue to do our job with the same enthusiasm. The Executive Yuan held an inter-agency meeting to discuss the case on Dec 6 and confirmed that these two companies do not meet relevant regulations and will not become state-owned enterprises if they were turned over to the government. There are still at least 9 more cases involving KMT party assets awaiting trials at the Taipei High Administrative Court.
