AUTUMN STRUGGLE PROTESTS DPP'S BROKEN PROMISES|2016秋鬥登場 高喊要正義.戳破假轉型

The 2016 Autumn Struggles took place outside the DPP Taipei headquarters on Nov 27. Social activists gathered at this longest running annual demonstration to demand justice for the disadvantaged groups. Activists spoke out at the event regarding issues such as labor, education, immigration, and forced eviction. According to the the organizer of the demonstration, the Tsai administration has broken its campaign promise to stand with minority groups, and the DPP has become a party of scammers. Over 50 social activist groups rallied outside the DPP headquarters despite the rain to voice their opinions on migrant workers, forced eviction, and labor issues. ==KUO YAO-CHUNG, Autumn Struggle spokesperson== Our rally is a call to the Tsai administration to hear our voices. We need more equality among classes and a more democratic economy . We will give her a plaque that says scammers. We will take more actions to let the president know people's discontent. The Autumn Struggle is the longest running labor activism event in Taiwan. The organizer said the Tsai administration has failed to fulfill her campaign promise to push for transitional justice. That's why they presented the DPP with a plaque that says "scammers". ==CHENG YA-HUI Taipei City Federation of Labor Unions== She broke 5 of her 6 election promises on labor policy. She vowed to rescue young people from being underpaid and overworked. She failed. Cutting 7 holidays means a 7-day pay cut. Labor groups stressed that they will continue their hunger strike outside the Legislative Yuan to stop the government from cutting 7 holidays. They will not leave until they achieve their goal. While fewer people attended the protest due to the rain, multiple police officers were still on standby at the scene.
